we're separate, Willie, right now - right here,...

HEB. 4:12.
For The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing
even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and is a Discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.'
Are you another one who has never gotten anything but one single meaning out of a particular Scripture?..... Maybe reading it once at the birth of your first child.... then maybe at the loss of a job.... then again after helping rescue a kitten.... or maybe after the loss of a loved one.............. and gotten a different sort of help each time?

I sure have. That is only one of the many ways I know God's word is living, and can be new for me with the dawning of each new day. And, I thank God for that!

Do we? We back America, Mom, apple pie and the girl next door, killing hundreds of thousands in that "God-ordained" cause. But, the hundreds of Orientals I killed don't seem to have the same right to have lived as I did....... BECAUSE I was on what we think was the right side.

Yet God told all of us living on this ball of dust not to go off killing ANYONE on purpose.
I know who WE think was right.
And I know who THEY think was right.

But, WHAT was right in God's eyes?
So, when Moses comes down with the Ten Commands and tells them what they are, the first thing they do is make a gold calf. God tells Moses to kill the ones who did that. And Moses and his peep do. But apparently they didn't kill enough, because God kills a couple thousand more.

This is repeated in that wilderness multiple times.

And God out and out told Abraham that he couldn't go to the Promise Land yet because the sins of those people weren't complete yet. 430 years later, apparently they were, because he tells Josh and friends to kill them all -- man, woman, and child. ALL of them.

But you don't think this same God ever tells people?

Do you remember what happened when the Democrats won Congress after Nixon bartered a solid peace plan? They said never mind, once again with the money to enforce that plan, so the communists said never mind and went for The Killing Fields!

You weren't wrong killing those people. They were evil! They proved that over and over again. What was wrong was politicians playing games with the lives of the soldiers and the lives of the civilians! Two evils don't make a good.

I was one who "left" because of focusing on all of the controversial arguments in the BDF. They made me uncomfortable and stirred up some ugly things I thought were buried.~ However, after being "gone" for a while and talking with others via my private email, I decided to return because I missed the "delightful" things CC offers and the people who make it pleasant.

It is true, what ever "forum" in which I participate is MY decision/choice... and as easily as I click to enter, I can click to leave. It's not the disagreeing on biblical principles which made me want to "go", that only challenged me to search deeper into that which I believe. It was the "tearing down" of one another to prove one's point and the line of adamantly holding true to one's convictions being crossed by sheer insult or "bullying".

It's good to "challenge" one another to grow in the FAITH of our Lord, Jesus Christ while remembering it is HIS TRUTH which matters, and not our ego needing to be fed by demanding to be "right". (formerly Jodel)
