I was born and raised in Los Angeles but was often asked if I came from somewhere else. I asked them why and they said I had an accent. We determined it was Midwestern, as all my family was from Indiana. There were 17 of us growing up in two homes all from Indiana except me. Even my younger cousin was, as she came in '48 with her siblings when her mother died.
