Yes. You gotta learn what the chords are first. Basic chords are:
C = C-E-G (technically triad, not chord)
Cm = C-Eb-G (triad)
C7 = C-E-G-Bb
Cm7 = C-Eb-G-Bb
Same for A-B-C-D-E-F-G
Then a little more advanced:
Csus4 = C-F-G
Csus2 = C-D-G
C6 = C-E-G-A
Cdim = C-Eb-Gb
Caug = C-E-G#
C9 = C-E-G-B(b)-D
etc...
