Probably been asked before, but I want to know the full details and why it cost 3k to run this website. Please don't give half estimated and guesses, it really doesn't help.

There's a server fee.

Why not ask an Admin or the owner directly? They may never see this post.

Why even ask to begin with? What business is it to you.

But to answer your question, I'm guessing a lot of the cost is bandwidth, followed by storage. Bandwidth isn't cheap, despite what people argue about that not being the case.

I agree it really isn't that important for the owners of CC to fully disclose where the money goes. If the owner(s) want to make money off this, I see no problem with it; there is nothing illegal or immoral to make a profit off of a forum.

There is no if. Robo Makes it clear that he draws a paycheck from running this and his other two sites.

At one time I toyed with being the Admin of my own site............and I assure you it isn't cheep IF YOU WANT to offer a site that is capable of generating the membership needed to actually remain a viable option in the Internet World.

I did so at my own expense, and really couldn't afford to become competitive with the other Christian sites, and so it is now lost in the netherworld of Cyberspace...........

Whatever the Owner(s) of this site do/need to do to remain a viable option.......GOOD FOR THEM, and God bless them.

Scriptures speak of "muzzling the Ox," so that should take care of anyone complaining that they might be profiting from this site as far as I am concerned.

Paying the labor to maintain the site. (Roboop) (Yes Admins/mods are volunteer.)
The gears hardware/software to allow 100s of chatters to text/voice/video chat all at once.
The server bill.
The webspace.
The domain name.

A person like Robo who invests his life into this should get paid for his work, and it costs money for the already mentioned gears/hardware/software/server etc.

$3,000 x 12 = $36,000
And that number is just a goal.

$36,000 a year for the amount of labour done by roboop on this site is a severe underpayment in my opinion. And again, that's a goal, not a for certain reality of the amount given.

DISCLAIMER..THIS POST ISN'T COMPREHENSIVE AS TO HOW ALL MONEY IS USED..IT'S JUST A GENERAL IDEA.

.........and lest we forget, given what the Affordable Health Care Web Site cost........I'd say it is a down right steal!

:)

(am I the only one that sees the humor in knowing that CC is far more efficient than the AHC Web site?)
