Wishing Mothers A Happy Mothers Day

I just wanted to wish all the Mothers out there a Blessed Happy Mothers Day! My daughter Angela (Angie) came over with her fiance' John last night. We had a nice breeze outside sitting on the deck and talking. They brought me a big red geranium hanging basket, a Mothers Day balloon, a Longhorn Steakhouse gift card for tomorrows baby back rib dinner, and a nice card.

Mothers

Mothers make you do this and that.
Put on your jacket. Put on your hat.
Put on your mittens, and a thick sweater.
Now there sweetie, isn't that better?

Mothers make you eat your greens.
Sometimes mothers are so mean.
Mothers send you to your room.
Mothers are full of doom and gloom.

Mothers make you do your chores.
Clean the bathroom--what a bore!
Mothers make you clean your plate.
Might as well. There's no escape.

Mothers worry what you wear.
Have you clean ones on down there?
It's the first thing doctors check
If you get into a wreck.

But mothers are one of God's best gifts;
Full of loving hugs that give a lift.
Yes, mothers make you do this and that.
Thank God for mothers...and for hats.

1 Timothy 5:1-2

It Always Takes Mother

Father may carry him
Upon his broad shoulders,
And teach him to climb
To the top of the boulders.
But when he falls
And scrapes his knees,
It always takes Mother
For his pain to ease.

Father may teach him
To play and to catch,
Or take him each week
To play in his match.
But when your son
Has missed the last goal
It always takes Mother
To comfort his soul.

Father may teach him
To kneel and to pray,
And teach him to walk
The narrow way.
He may even teach him
To run the good race,
But it always takes Mother
To show him God's grace.

Father may work while
The heat is swelling
To provide for his family
A comfortable dwelling.
But no matter where I travel,
No matter where I roam,
It always takes mother
To make it a home.
