Well Sirk - You did what you meant to. We are all just hanging out talking about the "serious" :p side of our lives and no one has tried to prove anything with scripture yet!

by the way, my husband wears dentures, (ones that look real, not the ones that look like
a 'mule smiling through a picket-fence);)

he recently discovered, and I am really glad, because he's getting the missing tooth
replaced soon, but what I so wanted to share with you all, is that he has discovered
that he can whistle and sing at the same time through the hole in his denture.

thought you'd like to know, we just never know what's in store for us!!!

Last weekend I built a zip line in the back yard for the kids. Me and my 14 year old just hung. We didn't talk about God or spiritual things....we were too busy trying to figure out how to incorporate one of his skate board wheels into the equation. My brain was sort of in coast mode but looking back on that afternoon, I know that Jesus was there with us even tho we were just being guys focused on being together. Of course my attitude was one of gratitude....but I wasn't thinking about it or "trying" to please Jesus. I was just being alive.....and it felt good.

This is the best thread to play with my avatar and change it. I've been saving this photograph I took one day using my bible to depict abiding in the Word.

I think it would be fun to start a photo album of different ways the bible itself can be used as a message. I'll take ideas.....

Well Sirk, I got some rest and decided I'd relax to a very popular movie.

Which got me thinking?
Am I suppose to believe that a woman can remember an event that happened in her life 85 years prior to her telling the story? You see, this "love story" lasted only a day and a half, and it revolves around the meeting of this guy.

How can I believe that she can recall the story, verbatim, ....on something that happened 85 years ago? Really?

I can't even remember what I did last weekend.
(let alone something that I did with a person I met over a July 4th weekend, just ten years ago)

Of course, my past stories/memories never involve going down on any famous ships, nor did I ever have Leonardo DiCaprio there to put me on a conveniently placed chunk of wood to save me from drowning or freezing to death in the frigid North Atlantic waters......... while Celine Dion sings a beautiful love ballad over the entire event.

Never mind.

I want to go on a cruise now.

I have another music analogy to share. Suppose you have this beautiful piece of music with this beautiful melody sung by a person with a beautiful voice but the problem is that you have this guitar player (who btw is very good) who does a frivolous guitar solo over the entire song. Even tho it is played in the right key and in time with the music it still detracts from the idea that the song is portraying.

So it is with the person who continually pontificates their personal agenda all Over the gospel.

Didn't mean to ruin your thread.

I mentioned Celine Dion.
That's music?.......to some people.

Sirk,
that really is a great idea, but we started exchanging perspectives and the only
common thread that we could 'agree' upon, (with paper bags on heads) was to
maybe, we could resurrect the 'GONG-SHOW' and maybe we could actually be winners,
with my husband not only whistling but also singing his heart out with his voice
reverberating through the gap of the missing tooth in his 'dentures'.

sirk,
don't hold back, just because you like us, do you really think we have a future in
country-music?
remember, Minnie Pearle???
