You know you are young at heart when.....

Hi - I thought it might be nice to also have a positive thread about getting older - so here goes.



You know you are young at heart when the thought of making snowmen and having snow ball fights
still brings a smile to your face.


When you see a bright red fun handbag and think, Yes I will have that.


When you spill a cup of coffee over your brand new carpet and can still laugh at it..urr will just about!

You know you're young at heart when............you still enjoy singing the theme song to "The Facts of Life"

On a side note, Lisa Whelchel (who played Blair in the show) is a devoted Christian.

You know you're young at heart when you think most people your age are boring and unimaginative and you have more in common (creativity-wise) with children.

When you stay up all night, because the wetherman said it might snow and you dont want to miss the first flakes.
Then when it does snow a 3:30 am, you throw warm clothing over your pjs, and go outside to play in it, catching a few flakes on your tounge.
I do love snow!

When you go outside every day, just to see if the flowers have started to grow, and then keep going outside to see how much.
Or you sit very still, and make bird sounds, so the birds will come to you, and get so excited when they do, and you get to talk to them and they listen.
One actually landed on a branch right next to me when I was watering, and kept chirping at me, so I sprayed ater gently on it, and it enjoyed the bath.
So it came every time it saw me water, so it could take a shower.
The best is when the humming birds come to you, and sit near you, and look at you as you look at them, and they stay near and watch you weed the garden.
You know you are young at heart when you do this, and believe it as well.

When you still get excited about snow, rainbows, wind storms and spring showers!
And even though your almost 53, you still brake out the sed you had as a kid, and slide down the hill on it!

Ah pickles I have not been sledging for a while but I know that feeling!

You know you are young at heart when you have a card, craft, drawing session with children and you enjoy it more than them
and you are the one who does not want to do home!!

When you're happy and present enough to forget to look at the clock as the day goes by.

when a windy day is welcomed so you can get out your bubbles to walk and watch them blow down the street and up into the air

when you hear the music from the icecream man and you see all the adults lining up at the truck

when you still watch cartoons even after the kids have gone to sleep....


when bubbles still fascinate you by their iradescent roundness.....


when you roar like a dinosaur as you smash block towers or sand castles....

when your answer to what you learnt from the Bible today is "God loves you" .....

When you can watch Dora and enjoy it.
When you're better at acting like a 4 yr old than an actual 4 yr old.
When you can spontaneously dance or sing in public without a care in the world.

You know you are young at heart when you have more in common with people who are 10+ years younger than you. When you can't wait til Friday so you can stay up all night and not worry about going to sleep early so you can "play" on the internet.

When you see someone your age and think, no way I look that old, and then realize "Oh yes you do". Wait... that one was meant for another thread.

when you love the sun coming up. the sun going down not so much.
