This crystal is an Amethyst, a light coloured one which is more suited for the crown chakra (top of head).
One day, while sitting in a relaxing lounge chair, I was examining this crystal. Because of its size, it started to feel heavy after a while and inadvertently placed the crystal close between my legs. Its point basically at my base chakra. I got side tracked and forgot about the crystal. A few minutes later a sudden burst of cool energy, like a beam of light, went straight up my spinal column and out through the top of my head. It forced me to suddenly sit up straight and I gasped for air from its sudden awakening energy. As the energy rushed upward, I felt it crashing through certain points along the way, as if kicking a door open. These points were exactly where some other chakras lay. Namely the base, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat and crown. The experience was of both mental and physical alertness for the next few hours.
I find these experiences enhances my WOW factor about God the Creator of all natural things.
I still do not know what the purpose of the chakras are. I know that there is a lot written about them, and crystals too. But the few experiences I have had with them is enough for me to remain in awe with God's creativity. I value these experiences more than any knowledge written in a book.
Most people I have met run from one experience to the next. Much like getting to many things to choose from. I prefer to sit with one experience for a long time and allow it to mature and blossom within me. If an experience is like opening a door to a room and looking in, then instead of running around to open other doors, I go into the room and examine whatever its contents reveals to me. The room is the heart of the experience. I do this too with introspection. Daily prayer and meditation is a simile to this.
