Well, are you naturally depressive? Or is this do to a certain situation? That distinction can have an impact on how you are able to deal with it.
A person who is not normally depressed but becomes depressed has an easier chance to recover. They need some help, but as the situation changes, the feelings lessen so does the depression. But if you just have a natural issue with depression it is usually a life long battle. Either way you need to have physical problems checked first to rule out anything health based, hormonal, nutritional deficiencies, allergies or whatnot. If everything comes up ok there, then you should seek some sort of professional help. This does not mean you need to go on medication. I discourage it unless a person is unable to function as a result of the depression.
I've had depression since 14, it is just a trait of my personality type. The best things to do, and this is verified, not just cheesy health push
1) eat healthy
2) exercise regularly
3) stay on a consistent sleep pattern, especially one you sleep at night
Those three things are shown to help improve depression issues. Counseling to help you learn how to cope with stress, etc... and sometimes just to vent or help you see where you make bad choices and why can help greatly as well. I have never taken any meds for my depression.

hey matreshka ,
Well there are different levels of depression ,and if its moderate or very bad u should seek professional help
first thing i did when i was depressed was that i had an appointment with a professional .
i was put on medication which helped a lot
I talked a lot to my friends about it and i shared my feelings with them often .
i had christian people to pray for me .
i read a lot about depression on internet or books and how to deal with it .

I was given an experimental drug, a little white pill. I was never told what it was. After I took that little pill, the things in my life that depressed me now became things I knew how to work at overcoming. Before, my mind only knew about "ain't it AWFUL", afterwards my mind saw the same things but with hope and plans of action. I can't find that pill again, but I still remember how to use my mind in the way it showed me.

I do not know if I would consider myself under depression, but I wake up each day to a job I do not like at all and I come home feeling ruined at the end of the day pretty much every day - but my advice would be..

Uphold a regular sleep routine (I was previously only getting 6 or under hours sleep per night), when I changed I was feeling a lot better, although it cut more of my free time out - but I was having to sleep half the weekend to make up for it - but now just change so you go to bed earlier during the weekdays and get up early on the weekend since you do not need to compensate for sleep).
Uphold regular exercise - this is a must, even just get outside with a skipping rope and do 5 mins a day in the morning or when you get home. Working towards something physical with the body is a big need.
Take up something in the form of creativity that allows you self-expression. Writing in a lot of cases where you can put your thoughts down into words will help you a lot and it is a rewarding task to see what you can do with self-expression.
Try to remove or change negative influences in your life, maybe it is the music you are listening to, something you are watching on TV.. and replace them with positive ones.
I find dressing in brighter colours always helps as well, I typically had a habit of dressing in near or pure black. Mixing up a change with clothing is always nice as well.
Most of all, keep reminding yourself you are not always going to be in this situation and that it is only a temporary thing that you are going to overcome and beat :)

Change up your life. Depression can only be diagnosed by a medical professional. But it could also be the weather. Which is a proven scientific study. But get more sun light in your life( vitamin d) And try to help other people with there problems to get your mind off your problems. (to an extent.)
But also read the bible for help to.
All the best.
