An ounce of gelatin has 7 grams of protein, no fat, and only 30 calories. It is wonderful for loosing weight. Besides it helps digestion, helps heal allergies, good for bones, joints, hair, nails and skin.

When I was cooking for a growing family, gelatin was simply part of the meals. Only hamburger came boned, a chicken was just that: a chicken, the whole thing. Learning to cut it up was part of cooking and if you boned a piece, the bone was added to soup. We didn't think about gelatin, it was just part of how we ate. Now, we really need to add gelatin to our foods. Add to any meat dish from meat loaf to stew. Add to all smoothies. Just soak gelatin for a little while in some water to soften it. Make candies and deserts.

You cam buy quality gelatin, from grass fed cows. A good brand is Great Lakes Gelatin at Amazon. If there is something else you need from Amazon so your order totals $35 you can get free shipping.

Good quality food that keeps us well is much cheaper than a doctor visit and medicines.

You eat it every time you have stock, or fried chicken fried with the bone, or jello, or a roast made without the bone removed first.

I suppose gelatin is much more digest than bone broth, and with some similar health benefits.

When you have a desert made with a sparking jello, do you think of it as coming from animal carcasses?
Yes, and that's why I don't eat jello. :D

Can I get the same benefit by eating plain (flavored) jello as in desert. I do cook my bones when making soup etc. But I guess I need to make sure we get gelatin too. Oh, there is so much to remember. Jesus come quickly.
