So, hubby was completely immobile for a couple of months, and now that he is able to move one thing after another stops his therapist from getting him moving again. He wants to stand, but he can't even sit now. He needs core muscles to work again, but from nothing to something.

Everything I see for developing core muscles is for people who actually have use of their core muscles. He can't even raise his legs yet. He can turn to one side. That's it. Anyone have exercises that work for someone that immobile? (And please, no sales pitches for contraptions, doohickeys, programs, books, etc. Just basic things he can do even before he can sit.)

Can he contract his muscles? For seconds at a time?

Is it possible for someone to help him with movements until he is strong enough to do them himself?

Sorry, got busy again. He is doing better now. Finally got his wheelchair so his PT and he are working toward redeveloping his core again. He's got a ways to go, but at least he's back to heading forward.

Excellent! This is, basically, the foundation of core strengthening. You can find a lot of passive exercises on the web.

the CORE is our CORE and must be held in the highest esteem....no matter what,
we must STAND on our CORE that God has given to us,,,,it is the only way to
maintain and keep ourselves above what is below.....

much heart and soul is required...in order to maintain our CORE...
such a great challenge can only be met with great SPIRIT.....
