Hello,
There are thousands of ways to try and talk about this, yet none of them would seem like the right way. I have been searching for a God, any God, any meaning behind life, i devoted the last 7 years of my life for that purpose and i finally found and accepted Jesus Christ as my lord and savior. It was a long road worthy of every second of research.
I’m finally a proud Christian and no day passes by without me crying from extreme joy that God has blessed me with the ability to hear and see him in my heart after all these years. I was born a Muslim yet somehow i was able to see lord Jesus despite of all the hatred i have been fed towards him, the road to jesus has taken me seven long years, so i decided i will completely devote my life to my lord and become a pastor, i will spread his word and make it reach lost kids because I wasn’t afford that, i wanna make these 7 years shorter for other lost children of God, only problem is that I’m an Egyptian lawyer and i know that i cant officially become a Christian without my life being ruined, i aspire to become a pastor yet I can’t even be formally baptized....talk about sarcasm
There’s only one thing harder than not being able to find God, it’s finding God and not being able to practice your faith...
Thus...... Here’s my dream, I’m compeletely letting go of My previous life and im going to join a Master of Divinity program in the US ( because if people in here knew i converted they might kill me or assault my family ) in order to become a pastor; However, I dont know if i will be allowed to serve God in any church, given my Arab-Muslim past?
i want to devote myself but is it legally allowed ?
Any advice ?
Am i naive or could I actually achieve my dream ?

You are highly welcome here on CC in JESUS' NAME.
Since you have given your life to CHRIST then follow HIM with all your heart. JESUS said that if anyone will come after me, let him deny himself and carry his cross daily and follow HIM.
However, I'm surprised to hear from you that it is difficult for you to practice your faith in Egypt because I know that there are many Christians in Egypt and they are not afraid to Confess JESUS CHRIST as their LORD and SAVIOR.
Always follow the direction of the HOLY SPIRIT.

Good Sir,
Yes indeed, there are millions of Christians in Egypt, but how many of them are ex-muslims ? Do you know what the punishment in islam is for converting your religion ?
Converts suffer but christians who were born Christian can practice their faith, no problem

Hi John,

I'm praising the Lord with you that you have been born-again! Welcome to the family! :)

You might like to read about Michael Youssef who's Egyptian and is a pastor here in the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Youssef There's a link there that will take you to his website. You might like to contact him because he reaches out to Muslims in the Middle East.

As far as baptism goes, many in Muslim countries and others where Christianity isn't allowed are baptized. Why can't you be baptized?

If God is calling you to preach the gospel of His kingdom, He will lead and guide you every step of the way. Pray and find other believers to fellowship with. They can encourage you and you'll learn and grow in the Lord and find out if this is how He's truly leading you. He may want you to stay and preach to the young ones there in Egypt.

And........God is God of the impossible. Not the impossible. :) If it's His will that you come to the US and pastor, it will happen. You can trust Him completely. Halleluyah! Again, welcome to CC!

I see no problem at all being a pastor despite your past. It is your past that affords a unique opportunity to minister to those who are searching for something spiritual, something that can only be found in a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You are not naïve and you certainly can achieve your dream with the grace of God. The good work that God started in you He certainly will complete through you. Glad to have you onboard in our Christian community. Welcome to CC.

I love Christian Chat, I’ve seen nothing here but overwhelming love and support, thank you all for your kindness !
Thank you Jesus for finally allowing my heart to see the truth.
Thank you God for finally giving me sight after all these years of blindness.
Lord Jesus has given me many blessings..... Family, health and money, yet i rejected the trinity out of fear of Allah.
Christ saved me yet I dont deserve to be saved.
Devoting my life to Christ is nothing but a small meaningless way to show him how regretful i am to have spent so many years without him at the center of my life.

Hello John - Welcome ..It is of no value to God to give Him your life for death, despite the fact, for some, God would honor the sacrifice to lay a life down for another. He wants you to be a “living sacrifice” - to let Him have all your strengths that have been saved and sanctified through Jesus (Romans 12:1). This is what is acceptable to God. So, as Desertrose has mentioned, God calls a Pastor by appointment Biblically, and therefore if He has called you to serve Him this way, He will establish your steps. Act toward His favor without doubting and He will guide you and empower you there. Trust Him.

The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast head-long, for the Lord upholds his hand. (Psalm 36:23-24).

The prayer is for you to delight in the Lord's will here only, and now that you have shared your concerns with His Body we too will join you in that prayer! May God richly Bless you along this road my friend and render your character as strong as steel..

Yes bro and I also understand you.
Remember my dear brother, the LORD Who have called you is with you. Seek His direction. HE will lead you. Don't do anything on your own without first seeking His will and direction concerning it. Call on Him always. Talk to Him always and be patient to hear from Him before acting. I'm praying for you bro.
We love you.
JESUS is LORD.

Remember God has not made your meaningless life useful; He has changed you from death unto life. You have been reborn to become the most meaningful life a human can live. For if Christ is in us, what can possibly be meaningless? Equally so, what could ever be more meaningful? Don't mistake human weakness as your outcome to serve God (our limitations God would have you embrace), accept His supernatural normalcy as your new life. For when we are weak He is strong! Of course I am not speaking of sinning here.
