Hey there everyone, pleasure to meet you!
My name is Steve, I'm 22, and made the great choice to accept God into my life when I was 14. It has of course been a bumpy road, I have strayed again and again and made my own mistakes, learnt lessons etc. Recently I have been finding my faith again, not to say I stopped believing, but I had the wrong priorities, and tried to change in order to be more in tune with other non Christian friends.
Recently I feel like I have truly been on the right track, I don't believe in regretting too much and while I've made some bad choices in the past few years, it led to this point. I've realised that I have been at my happiest when I am close to God, when I actively seek him. Other forms of happiness are temporary. I used to be quietly embarrassed about my faith, subconsciously disown it for fear of what others might think. I also used to party even though I hated it, and drink quite a lot.
Its been over a year since I touched alcohol and I've realised that I don't have to go out and party or compromise my values in order to be happy. I've been talking to God daily and actively seeking to do what would please him, not others, I am absolutely thankful to be where I am in life. I can only thank God for that.
Many of my Christian friends have branched out in life. I met most of them as a teenager and while I'm meeting new people at Church, I'm also hoping to make some more friends who believe and follow Christ. Thats why I'm here, I look forward to talking!
A bit more about me, I just finished a job working at a high school, tutoring english and giving singing lessons. I'm looking to study a Bachelor of Education. I've done theatre and singing all my life, have been in shows with Opera Australia, as well as a few short films, ads etc. I also discovered another passion in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a bit over a year ago. I train 5 days a week, have competed a few times and won my first gold medal this month in fact. The constant hard work of Jiu Jitsu has actually brought me closer to God, and for that I am thankful.
Thanks for reading, God Bless!
