Danny Gokey was on American Idol at the time his wife passed on. He has recovered and remarried. One of my fave songs of his is He Holds My Hand. He is definitely in the top 20 US gospel singers

I do not recognize that song, though I have very much enjoyed watching what I have seen of AI I no longer have a TV, but I will sometimes amuse myself by watching youtube vid auditions, and/or the best and worst of AI. Some are quite amazing they are so blessed/talented, and others hilarious in their delusions of grandeur Rose and Tabin, have you heard of Chris Sligh? He was also an AI contestant, and made it to the top ten
After he was part of the star maker machinery, he wrote this song:

I am so glad you are enjoying the mp&w music I do, and I agree, these great talents are God-given; it is so wonderful to see believers enter the fray and spread the Word in such high profile, public talent competitions.
After living TV free for seventeen years, I decided to get a small set as a present to myself to commemorate my 50th birthday, and I came home with a 42" Sony Wega high def digital flat screen, which is where I discovered some of the artists I am sharing, because for the first about three years I did not have cable, using my TV for DVD viewing, and also would listen to a TV radio station that featured modern praise and worship (I believe it was called Galaxy - The Light, or something like that). I was a very new Christian in those days... I would have the TV radio station playing in the background as I did other things, and over time, certain songs would really stand out for me, so I would get the artist name and song title, and look them up online Chris Sligh, hmmm, not sure how I discovered him because I missed that year of AI, but I always think of this other artist in conjunction with him for some reason
This next song keeps coming to mind for me in relation to you, also, Rose
