My name is Samantha or you can just call me Sammie or Sam, as much as I dislike that name I have gotten use to hearing it.

At this point in my life I hunger and desire to have a relationship with him but I feel so unworthy, I have stepped so far away from God and his church. I wish there was a Finding God for Dummies book out there somewhere that can help with my crazy fears. I know it's insane and we always hear bad things happen to good people, but we never hear bad things happen to bad people. Does that mean if I lay it all down and pick up the cross are bad things going to start happening to me. And I know I should just trust in God and have faith. I need help

Welcome to Christian Chat! Hope you enjoy your time here. And yes, God allows the rain to fall on the just and the unjust, as the Bible phrases it. When you accept Jesus as your Saviour, it's your heart that changes, not necessarily your circumstances. It means that you let His death on the cross take the punishment for your sins. It's a Go-To-Heaven-Free card, not a Never-Land-On Boardwalk-When-There's-Already-Two-Motels card :). To say that the tests and trials are worth having the Son of God as your best friend is the understatement of the century :)

Awe girlie, you only recourse is know that God has your best interest at heart and His thoughts towards you are good; regardless of how it seems (Jeremiah 29:11). It takes faith, but all you need to do is to start small.
