Hello,
I'm new to Christian Chat, just thought I'd introduce myself with my testimony.
I've always had little touches hear and there with Christianity. Never doubted the existence of God. My first real experience with Jesus was one night when I was 18 years old. I was quite spiritual. I felt the existence of demons, yet didn't know how to deal with them. I talked to my friend, who was Christian, and told him I had a demon that was inhabiting me. He could feel it too. He said, "In the name of Jesus Christ, away with you" and the demon left me.
It took me another few years to be open to going to church. I'd always thought of them as stuffy, judgemental and fake. But I needed a boost. I was going through the worst time of my life, and I was all empty and dry. So I started looking for churches. One of my friends was Christian, and she told me to come to her church. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. As I sat there, not believing in Jesus, but in God, I got ministered to every Sunday, just because I needed to be filled up, as I was empty. Slowly Jesus became more and more real. It happened gradually, and I don't know when it happened, but I'm not happy to say I have a real relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible is the truth, the word of God and our standard of living. I've been baptised with Water and the Spirit, and am now saved. Thank you Lord Jesus, thank you God, living with you in my life is the best thing that could have ever happened to me!
And our church is not at all stuffy, judgemental or fake. God inhabits the praises of its people, and I can feel Gods presence when we are all worshipping Jesus together.
