Matt,my advice to you as a new Christian trying to put the sins of your past behind you is this..... Develope a dedicated prayer time for your intimacy with the Father. He cares greatly for you having given His Son in place of your sins. Remember HE never remembers them anymore! Talk with Him as if He is your best friend for He is. Develops a habit of studying His word asking for the Spirit to guide you into His truth! Always test what others tell you by the word! Remember you are considered a babe don't try to ingest something in the word that may choke you b/ c you're not ready for it. I would start with either the gospels or Psalms to give you guidance! I will be praying on your behalf also! Blessings🙏🙏🙏

So glad you came, Matt. Jesus loves you and we do to. A good place to start is to remember that Christianity is about a relationship, not a religion. My favorite verse is Revelation 3:20 (see below sig.) God created us for fellowship with Him as well as all our brothers and sisters.

John
3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Start there, then just keep on going. Sweeter get's the journey, brother!
