Forgive me if this post is a little long winded. 
I'm Rachael, 21. I live in Michigan and I'm currently a full time student who works part-time. I recently moved into my own apartment with no roommates or other family members and as of late I've felt like my life has been lacking motivation and direction. I don't have a lot of friends by choice and even though my family is five minutes away from me, sometimes I don't have as much time as I would like to spend with them.
I was born into a Baptist Christian family (both my mom and dad's parents were Baptists) but once I got to a certain age, I became incredibly disconnected with my religion, or ANY religion. It's not that I stopped believing as much as it was easier to not think about God, prayer or being a good Christian.
Now that I've gotten a bit older, I've been really wanting to re-establish a relationship with God and meet like minded people. I haven't been to church since 2003 and I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm not really a church person at this moment. I've been reading the bible and watching evangelical programs on TV.
What else can I say about me...? I love creative writing and literature, video games, music and friendly people. I think that's it.

P.S. My username comes from a big Birch tree that my aunt had in her yard that I loved to sit under when I was younger. I found it very charming and beautiful. Just wanted to clarify since I've had people thinking I was trying to be cheeky since the "R" key is right next to the "T" key.
