I imagine most Christians, and especially those of us who found Jesus as adults, are beyond grateful to know Jesus and they want non-believers to come to know Him, too.
I would love to hear your ideas of how we can evangelize our family members, friends and perfect strangers in loving, creative and non-cringy ways.

Hello @Keris, I don't have time to talk right now, but I thought that you might find this useful (as I have), especially since you mentioned witnessing to unsaved family members and friends. BTW, it's only $4 on Kindle right now :) The description is from Amazon, just FYI.
Tactics provides the game plan for defending your faith and artfully communicating the truths of Christianity with confidence and grace.
This expanded anniversary edition of the classic book of Christian apologetics includes updates and expansions of existing tactics, as well as the addition of an all-new tactic and a chapter on Mini Tactics filled with simple maneuvers to aid in discussions.
In a culture increasingly indifferent or even hostile to Christian truth, followers of Christ need to be equipped to communicate with those who do not speak their language or accept their source of authority.
In Tactics, 10th Anniversary Edition, Gregory Koukl demonstrates how to artfully regain control of conversations, keeping them moving forward in constructive ways through thoughtful diplomacy. You'll learn how to:
  • Meet challenges, questions, and provocations with poise and conviction.
  • Effortlessly start your own evangelical conversations.
  • Present the truth clearly, cleverly, and persuasively.
  • Graciously and effectively expose faulty thinking and logical fallacies.
  • Most important, you'll learn how to get people thinking seriously about Jesus.
Drawing on extensive experience defending Christianity in the public square, Koukl will not only walk you through effective arguments to defend why you believe what you believe, but he'll teach you methods for engaging in meaningful dialogue and debate.
Step-by-step, you'll learn the tactics of good persuasion and defense, how to identify the tactics of your opponent, and how to build your case, patiently and practically.
Hope to return a bit later this evening (Dv).

God bless you!!

Hi Keris,

Welcome and I am impressed with your zeal to get folks saved.
I agree that it's important to know how to lead someone to Christ. I think that the most important thing is to share the correct message of salvation. You'll find out in time that some will lead people to baptism and a myriad of other works. Jesus is not enough and His sacrifice is insufficient to the false preachers. Their methods might not be cringy, but they lead people to their own efforts or good deeds as their "savior" and toss Jesus in there somewhere.

The proper message presented clearly is worth more than it's weight in gold. I believe that this is a good presentation that you are welcome to share with friends and family.
Listen a time or so and let me know what you think.

I evangelize very softly. Jesus is the word, so anytime there is an opening for you to answer a question or insert the word of God you are actually inserting Jesus into the minds of those around you. This must be done gently, after all we are fishers of men.

Perhaps one of the most important things to remember is….

John 6:44-51 KJV - No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:

Hello yet again @Keris, I usually listen to an online Christian teaching or two while I'm at the gym, and I did so again this evening. This particular one is the 10th in a 10-part teaching series by Dr. James Anderson called Exploring Islam, and message #10 is called "Sharing the Gospel with Muslims" (10 ways or tips from Dr. Anderson on how to best do so).

I don't typically post longer videos on forums like this one (26 minutes in this case), and/or videos that are not specific to the OP topic, but I believe these "10 tips" (though written with witnessing to Muslims in mind) can be ~very~ useful tools in witnessing to others as well (non-Muslims, IOW).

This is from Ligonier's daily webcast and broadcast ministry called Renewing Your Mind, and it can be watched and/or listened to for free (right now) at the link below.

Enjoy :)

God bless you!!

David, thank you for your answer.
I forgot to introduce myself to you guys, so here are some bits of info about me:
I had a wow conversian experience at age 17 in 1984 and have lived in Britain and in Germany.
I have been 'active in Evangelism' pretty much since I gave my life to Jesus.
Since 2015 I have been supporting Syrian refugees here in Germany.
I teach them German and tell them about Jesus.
That's a short summary of my life. 🙃

Hello again Keris, thank you for telling us that (as short summaries of one's life go, that is one of the best that I've ever heard/read :giggle:(y)). I look forward to hearing more in the future.

Also, if you have any prayer needs concerning your ministry to the Syrian refugees, or prayer requests about anyone/anything else, please don't hesitate to share them with us if you want to (just FYI, we have a Prayer Requests board here at CChat: Prayer Requests - Christian Chat Rooms & Forums).

Blessings to you in Christ!!

p.s. - I was excited about what I was hearing from Dr. Anderson earlier tonight and I wanted to share it here (on your thread), but since it was, first and foremost, a teaching about witnessing to Muslims, I wondered whether I should do so or not, but then you told us that that's the very thing that you do (witness to Muslims, that is).

Very interesting coincidence, yes? :)

Finally, I do believe that the whole of the "10 Tips" fall under your requested "loving, creative and non-cringy ways" of approaching others with the Gospel.

Hi David,

I totally believe in coincidence. 😎
I love the way God gives us little kisses on our noses.
Thank you for your kind words and your encouragement.
We are in this 'Jesus thing together' as I like to call it. 🥳
I hear that most Muslims that come to a living faith in Christ do so on the basis of dreams and of Christians loving and serving them.
So let's love them, bless them by serving them and let's pray that the Lord will reveal Himself to them in dreams.
He does all things well. 😎

Keras, welcome and blessings! I'm eager to discover new ways to present Jesus to unbelievers. I think there are a lot of people out there who have been waiting to hear some genuinely good news for a very long time! What a blessing and honor it is that Jesus Christ has called us—the saints—to proclaim these good news! I think we have an excellent opportunity of success if we present ourselves as friendly and Christianly (is that a word?). The words He wants us to use will come to mind as the Holy Spirit leads us. How thrilling! . . . selah

Okay, I'm ready to hear how other folks creatively evangelize. IMG_0024.jpg

Hello Keris, we are very active with witnessing here. We go two by two to the shops on the street. We do church procession in the local streets, singing, and the brothers give a short gospel preaching in between the songs.
We do (full immersion) baptisms (recently) at the public beach, which is crowded this time of the year.
With family, as you do, just talk about what you’ve been doing.
I said I’m off to the prayer meeting now, reply was, “you’re supposed to pray without ceasing,” I said yes I’m praying within right now. 😊
Don’t worry how they respond.
They have verbally attacked me a number of times.
Sometimes I have to hang up the phone on them.
But now they are interested.
Never ever be discouraged.
The fruit will come in Gods time.

Hi,
I have found that a fine basis for evangelism is that when we ask God to help us to become totally sold-out to Him AND to prevent us from being freaky. 😎

To me that seems to be a helpful starting point.

By the grace if God we have been saved, which entrusts us with the most urgent and most amazing message ever, but at the same time we must beware of coming across as arrogant and schoolmasterly.

Instead, we should always remember that whoever God puts on our lives, there are also many things things we can learn from them, and we can ask tgem for help and precious advice.

When people know us in a context of an honest and humble relationship/friendship they are so much more open to listen to us when the right moment comes and the conversation turns to our Jesus and our testimony of His love and His salvation in our lives.

Hi,
I must say, I love this presentation because of its clear content and the sweet spirit in which it is being delivered.
Our message is about life versus death, so we have to be clear, but thank God it is possible to explain the Good News of a God who saves without jumping people in the face with a fire and brimstone attitude.
No-one can come to Christ unless the Father draw them, so the challenge upon us is to pray for those we witness to even more than we actually end up talking to them.
Presenting the Gospel clearly and backed up by helpful Bible verses is great, but at the end of the day it is God who supernaturally turns a person's heart to surrender to Him, it is not our expertise or power of persuasion in witnessing.
Lord, thank you so much for drawing us to You and revealing Yourself to us!

Thank you for sharing those wonderful ideas in this space!
With so many people that are reticent to step into our churches, it is a great idea to take Jesus out in the streets and into our communities!
When we go out in a spirit of joy and love, it helps our neighbours to understand that we have a message of good news, and they open up to talking to us and/or venture across the threshold of our churches.
God bless you and your church in all you do!

A sweet and gentle spirit in Evangelism is so important. After all, this is the most existential topic there is, and just because there are some of us that are happy to talk clearly about the challenge of a Jesus on the cross does not mean that those we witness to are prepared to bare their heart and soul to us.

No two human beings are the same, and we must learn to listen to the Holy Spirit to show us how to talk to different people.
Jesus certainly did this in His ministry on earth.

It also helps when we have a genuine relationship of love with the Lord and when we are true worshippers of our Saviour.

Non-believers sense this, and it makes them hungry to have the same.

Having spent years feeling distant from God, I've built up a crowd of non believing followers on insta. At first I felt fearful posting about Jesus again, out of the blue.

Then I had, what was an incredibly freeing thought.....what's the worst that could happen, someone gets extremely angry and sends me to meet Jesus... (which of course is HIGHLY unlikely...!). After that I've merrily posted away, short clips of preachers, prayers from guests on Sid Roth etc.
And more people have been viewing my stories than ever!

There seems a new hunger for God and truth, hallelujah!😁🙌

Evangelism is often more than verbal. People watch you far more than you realize. If they see joy, thankfulness and other fruits of the Spirit, they will note it. If they are true seekers, they may even come to us. If they are perfidious, they may go to great lengths to cause us to stumble. If we decide to speak forth, we must be sure to consult the spirit for guidance in each individual situation.

Jude 1:22,23
“And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh."

Here's another way ,Keris , that people have evangelized since Jesus trained His disciples.
The difference was that He sent them out by twos.

Using social media to glorify Jesus is a powerful prophetic statement in a time where most posts on social media glorify anything but Christ.
Keep up your good work.
