Hi there

1 Corinthians 6: 12

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient (profitable): all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any

Let God's spirit and common sense lead you :) If what you read or watch has "bad stuff" in it (sex, violence, hate), then avoid it. If it takes too much of your time, and removes your focus on God, avoid it. Otherwise, I personally believe it is perfectly OK to both read and watch moves :)

(If I ever get a house of my own I will end up using one room as a library :D )

Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
[h=3]Romans 14:1-23 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31[/h]

Movies, reading and music are subjective to each person, to an extent. Anything that has a negative effect on your or your walk with God should be avoided. And some things should be pretty obvious, such as movies that are highly sexual. But generally you have to ask yourself if you're comfortable with what you're putting into your mind and soul. Just keep in mind, even the bible says there are some subjects that are up to each person, and what may be wrong to you doesn't mean it will be wrong to everyone else. So many people think that in these areas THEY are right and anyone who feels differently is wrong, though the bible teaches otherwise. Don't be that person.

Obviously, movies or TV series about pork or bacon aren't kosher.

This is a verse, I found from about pork:
Leviticus 11:7 `and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, [is] unclean to you.
but,
1 Timothy 4:4 "For every creature of God is good and there is nothing to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving".

So for me, it depends on the people's vision. For me, eating pork is fine as long as it doesn't harm you. As we know, pork is not a healthy food if you consume it often.

About movies and books:
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things [are] noble, whatever things [are] just, whatever things [are] pure, whatever things [are] lovely, whatever things [are] of good report, if [there is] any virtue and if [there is] anything praiseworthymeditate on these things.

As a christian are you allowed to eat pork? If not why?
Acts 10:11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.
12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds.
13 Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
14 "Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."
16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

Eat you some bacon. We are not under the law of Moses which was for Israel alone, not the whole world.

Can i read what i want? Apart from the bible? Movies? What kind is acceptable?

Matthew 6:22
"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

2 Corinthians 10:5
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Romans 8:6
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

What you put into your mind matters. We need to read the Bible daily to counter all the negatives we have taken in.
