Do you think that maybe it isn't that people turn away from Jesus but maybe they never really went to him in the first place?

I stumble from time to time, but I confess my sins per 1 John 1:9 and He is faithful and just to forgive my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. PTL!!!!

even more so, 1st John 5:10 & 13 gets to the core of how WE KNOW WE ARE SAVED. add to that, Romans 8:16 & John 3:33

Precious friend, Great question, because, Scripturally, the following would
make no sense at all:

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,​
and of love, and of a sound mind. " (2 Timothy 1:7 AV)​

How is that one that God Eternally Saved, And "Gave a sound mind":

"turn away from Him" [ unsound mind? ]?​
Amen.
