I absolutely agree great (y)(y) post Maxwell, and there are some that want to censor peoples words because they don't agree with it. We are entitled to Freedom of Speech that is the 1st amendment in our Constitution.
Well, not according to Joy Reid, and a rising number of college students who believe that in order to be free, "society" should clamp down on unpopular speech. "Unpopular" of course is defined as that which offends the Left.

That's your counter-argument? Seriously? To everything I wrote?? Wow.

The mindset in the body of Christ in this nation regarding politics is painful.

We have mass shootings in recent decades in the US. But, our nation has always had guns. Why, in the past few decades, have we started to see this brand of wickedness? Because there is a falling away happening in the US. And, the church bears some responsibility, at least, for that.

We are the salt (preservative) and the light. If we fail to do our jobs, which we have, the nation will rot.

This has nothing to do with 2nd amendment rights. And, you want fascism? Disarm the people. SMH
Nah, keep the regular weapons, but ban the semi autos. A hunting weapon is okay for deer hunters and other folks, but nobody needs a semi auto to hunt for animals, as the animal would taste like lead after being hunted. ;)

It should be noted that the 2nd Amendment was not given to protect hunters and hunting. It was established that battle ready forces could be assembled at a moments notice. A hunting rifle is insufficient in our day and age for a militia.

That is true as well. But that is what the US military is for. They have stockpiles of weapons. For instance, Australia banned (buy back) most semi autos back in the 1990s, and people are satisfied.

One would hope that the military would defend it's people. But that is not the case with tyrannical governments. It is becoming less true in the US all the time.

That is true as well. But, maybe too much self preservation could lead to destruction. We shouldn't be paranoid for the future, and must trust in God, not metallic tubes that shoot dozens of projectiles per minute.

Making provision doesn't of necessity mean not trusting God. Guns are a tool just like a fork. No one is trying to ban silverware. I wonder why?

Probably cause you can't hurt as many people in a minute with silverware compared to an M-16.

That's one explanation. Another might be that it's poor strategy to bring a fork to a machine gun fight.
People with only forks cannot protect their freedom.

That is true as well. But look at other free nations. They don't need as many machine guns, and remain relatively free and safe. If we have the right to bear arms, what stops someone from buying a military tank gun? There has to be a limit on the power and rounds rate of weapons.

The people you speak of aren't really free. When Covid hit, they were told what to do.

Well, sometimes you have to listen to others. What if Jesus told you something? You would listen to him.

In the kingdom of God, the government is upon His shoulder. We all do well to obey everything the Lord says. But He rules and reigns in righteousness. With men, it is not so.

That is true. What if God's future government told us to social distance for a few months, if a virus spread? Would you ignore His gov't?

I believe Jesus is already ruling in the hearts of His people. As social distancing, masks, and Covid shots have all proven to be useless in the contracting and spread of Covid, I seriously doubt such a command will be forthcoming.

There is actually a debate on that. Masks were not effective, as not everyone social distanced. Even statisticians calculated that stuff back in 2020. But masks reduced the cases. :)

I'm afraid you are still accepting some mistruths. Masks don't work. And for many, proved detrimental.

That is true for some, but in most cases, masks worked well. So, you went out without masks back in the lockdown of 2020, as you disagree that they work?

It was also true of the Nazis... geez, imagine of the Jews had firearms? Oh my goodness, those poor SS!! It would've been a blood bath! Or, if the American slaves had weapons? They never would've been slaves! Those bad ol' weapons.

I don't care if, up until now, some countries are peaceful and free without an armed population. We saw the beginning of a collapse of that freedom in Australia during Covid, and there was nothing the people could do to resist. I say more is coming on that country, and the people will regret not being armed. I hope I'm wrong.

As long as Christ is not the government, stay armed. We have open-carry here in AZ, and people aren't shooting each other or lining the streets with bodies. Funny thing about guns... they make people into very polite neighbors (unless you find a theater with a no-gun policy in CO, but I digress...).

Fauci even said so, then reversed his statement. Great guy.

No, this is about control, not safety. And, too many people are buying into the danger of these things, hence my earlier point about keeping people in fear. When they are, they will jump however high the government tells them to. I love what the New Zealand prime minister said during the height of that "crisis": The government only was to be trusted as their single source of truth. Stalin would have loved her.
