Blond just got back from vacation meeting her new Granddaughters, three of them, ages 15, 12 and 3. Jillien the oldest is interested in art and horses, just like Grandma and Brianna is into tumbling and girlie things like makeup and having her hair done, Grandma likes that too and Gracie the youngest is not into girlie things but more of Mutant Ninja Turtles and Spiderman, which reminds Grandma Darlin (as Gracie calls me) of her Melisa who was not into girlie things much either.

So we got to know each other a little and played a game with Brie and Gracie called Headbanz which Gracie kept telling us what we were.... it was oh so much fun with these girls......

I had only known Gracie for about 6 hours and we were in the swimming pool at the hotel and she said Grandma.....I replied what? I love you.....which melted my heart and I replied I love you too Gracie..... Jackie, Gracie's mom about fell into the pool her eyes got wide and her mouth dropped open because I came to learn that Gracie just does not attach herself to just anybody..... Which made me feel very special to be accepted by her so quickly....

Of course, shortly after we arrived Grandma said those three little words that all girls like to hear..... Let's go shopping....and we loaded up in Jackie's mini van and headed to the mall dragging poor Grandpa Jerry along who did enjoy watching the girls have fun picking out a few treasures....

So before anyone tells me this thread does not belong in the Bible Discussion Forum I beg to differ.... because family is a very important part of life and if you are a Grandparent please dote here and give a Bible verse and tell a story on how much you love your Grandchildren......I think it will be a fun thread for Grandparents only.....

I have 2 grandsons age 7 and 4 and one brand new grand daughter age 4 weeks.

My grand sons stayed with us last week for the week. Part of their summer vacation.

After one of my workouts I took off my shoes and socks and smelled my socks. They didn't smell too good. So I asked my wife "Hey babe, can you smell these and see if I've got one good day left in them?". Just as a joke.

Of course my wife said "No, I'm not going to smell your dirty, sweaty socks."

Instantly my oldest grand son, not knowing it was just a joke said "I'll smell them for you grandpa".

My wife "David, don't you dare".

So of course I handed them to him and had him check for me. He wrinkled his nose and said "I think you need clean ones grandpa".

So every day after my work outs I would ask my wife if she would smell my socks and see if I had one good day left in them. She would always say no but I could always count on the grandsons racing over and helping me out... lol. The 4 yr old has to do everything his brother does. And I mean everything.

I know the thread says for Grandparents Only but, if you have Grandparents that you love and would like to chat about them here that is o.k. too. We all have them whether they are still alive or not if you would like to share a story or pictures about or of them please feel free to do so here along with the bragging Grandparents can do about the little ones in our lives.

My mother's parents were both gone by the time I was born, and my father's parents were fairly elderly, but I do remember sitting on my grandfather's lap as a small child, and feeling it was some kind of privilege, and it was sad seeing him waste away in a care home prior to his death. After his death, I remember visiting my grandmother when she lived a few blocks up the street from us, behind a corner store, before she moved in with one of my uncles after his wife drowned, to help care for the four children.

Here is a picture of my dad's parents on their wedding day.
This would be around the turn of the 20th century:

And here is a photo of my parents on their wedding day in 1943, with both sets of their parents:

I love it. I'm a great grandpa with 6 great grand kids and 6 grand kids. I'm a real push over when it comes to kids. Love them to pieces. Stay free! Stay blessed! I feel a tear in my eye. Seriously.

I love the old photos of folks. Think about what their lives we're like. What experiences. Every life a story! God knowing every detail down to a hang nail, minute by minute, a whole life time. Dallas Holm wrote a song. Part of the words: 'a whole life time is really no time at all...just a moment, then it's gone!' Oh so true!
