Well, like I said, would have to study this out because I could be wrong. Each individual text and context would have to be handled and interpreted. I think you should do it, then put your dissertation of the topic on here! :D
Minimum number of words required?

I think it is moment by moment, I can be focused on serving others one minute, and then something happens which takes away my focus, then through worry, or doubt, or fear start to look at self. Then I am in danger of following the flesh. And not the spirit.

So you are in and out of the Spirit? Surely you don't believe this?

It was not at the baptism of John. I mean Johns baptizing, not John was baptized.

Luk 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

when was Peter converted then?

John 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

They were repentant of their unbelief. This is what Paul calls the Spirit of Christ. Conversion. The new creation man born from above.

In Christ

in- a fixed position as the Greek says. Pentecost is the same power that Jesus moved by. Same giftings. And is the way the body of Christ reveals Jesus to the world after preaching the gospel.

When were the disciples born again? Anyone..
Matthew 16:13-19
Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah
16:13-16pp — Mk 8:27-29; Lk 9:18-20
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

The Christian life is not the easiest life but it is the only life worthy to live; I agree with Dcon and Eg, plus there may come a day where we may joyfully lay down our life for the Faith.....:)

"Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.…" Lk9:23,24

lol. I do not think you understand what I am saying :p

I am talking about what our focus is in. Is it on God (seek after things of the spirit, love God and your neighbor) or is it on self (flesh)

It is not being “in the spirit”

I could be wrong but I don't think the right honourable gentlemen aka EG is saying that we are in and out of the spirit. I think he may be saying that as a result of waking in the Holy Spirit and not doing so then we are waking in then flesh when we don't and are not when we do.

I'm sure the right honourable gentlemen will correct me if I am wrong.

Mind you he would not be the first or the last

Our focus would be our mind not our spirit EG. Our spirit has received the Spirit of Christ, which is Holy Spirit when we are born again. The Holy breath of God.

Hard to understand? Yes, I just accept it.

~Rom 8:9 You, however, are not under the control of the human nature but under the control of the Spirit, since God's Spirit lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of the Messiah, he does not belong to him.

Rom 8:10 But if the Messiah is in you, your bodies are dead due to sin, but the spirit is alive due to righteousness.

Rom 8:11 And if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, then the one who raised the Messiah from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive by his Spirit who lives in you.

Our body is dead but our Spirit is alive. We don't take our bodies into heaven with us. Death is in our body. The last enemy.

So, by our Spirit which is what we are now. Spiritual man or woman. We rule over our soul, our mind, our body. And in Spirit, again is a fixed position. We were fixed in flesh until circumcision by the power of God cut it...the axe of Holy Spirit to the tree of knowledge of good and evil, that the tree of life, Jesus, is what we produce.

So rule over that which causes trouble....declare it dead without power in our life. That is denying the flesh.

I could be wrongly reading him too. And honorable? Yes indeed. EG is one of my favorites...I have many here. :)

I did not say set my mind on my spirit sis, I said the spirit. The HS. I think you misunderstand me :p

The fact we still sin proves we do not always set minds on the spirit. If we did, we would never sing again.
