No. It is not automatic.
And it is certainly not instantaneous when one is "saved" by any number
of non-scriptural methods.
The NT tells us that a person seeking to become a disciple of Christ
must ask or seek for the Holy Spirit (usually at the time of water
baptism by full immersion).
Acts 2:38
(GW) Peter answered them, "All of you must turn to God and change the way you
think and act, and each of you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ so that
your sins will be forgiven. Then you will receive the Holy Spirit as a gift.
(ISV) Peter answered them, "Every one of you must repent and be baptized in the name
of Jesus the Messiah for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the Holy Spirit
as a gift.
Thus in Pentecost we share the scriptures that teach about the Holy Spirit -
the Comforter, the Spirit of truth - and encourage people to obey the commandments
to be baptized in water and the Spirit.
People must desire for the Holy Spirit as a gift available from God by Jesus for the power
and work of the Holy Spirit to enable them to be true worshippers and overcomers.
And of course as we all know the only Bible evidence given that a convert has truly
been baptized in the Holy Spirit is that one is able to pray in tongues: that is to pray
in the Holy Spirit.
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

The Holy Spirit being given to you IS when you are Baptized...
The church has a sacrament (a ritual) that is a beautiful picture that speaks of this Baptism by the Holy Spirit in which we receive the Holy Spirit from Him. It's the water baptism.
There have been some men who say they experienced both at the same exact time.

Getting baptized means receiving the Holy spirit and receiving the Holy spirit means that the Father comes in the believer and makes a home with them:
John 14:22Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”23Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
Getting baptized doesn't mean immersion in water- take note.

That means with other words before 1900 where mostly members of various sects baptised with the Holy Spirit
And it means that our of the charismatic and pentecostal movement you cant find christians which are baptised with the Holy Spirit. So non of the missionaries and believers I know are baptised with the Holy Spirit. Well I got the Holy Spirit by turning to Christ and without speaking in tongues. But I got another gift. To distinguish Spirits. And this says to me that your claim is wrong.

they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mark 16:
2 He [Paul] said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? ...
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them;
and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Do not confuse the sign of praying in tongues with the voice gift of
diversity of tongues operated in a Pentecostal worship meeting (along with
interpretation and prophecy).

Why are you trying to cheat? these is what the verse says:
Mark 16:15He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
These was for the disciples and disciples alone, today stupid preachers try to pick up snakes and drink poison and that is usually the last we here of them- so the rest are left mumbling meaningless words but we're not falling for it.

Please take some time to read the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 10. You will find that the gift of the Holy Spirit was given to those who believed the Gospel, and only AFTER THAT were they baptized in water by immersion. Indeed they were commanded to be baptized after they had received the Holy Spirit.
brother, that was a one-time event... it was a "teaching moment", if you will, for all the Jews that didn't understand that Gentiles were accepted by God. The Gentiles received the Spirit, which, for the sake of the Jews, was evidenced by their speaking in other tongues. The Jews were surprised to see that, and Peter then essentially said "see?? They have been accepted by God, so let them be baptized just like you Jews!"
