"SaintMichaels, post: 3620732, member: 271115"]That's how we got the word of God you know. Because people who wrote it said God spoke to them so as to have them write those things that he said down.
did you read the op? it's about dreams. we did not get the Bible because Moses and everyone else who wrote it had a dream or a bunch of dreams
That's kind of harsh.
is it? so we all should put dreams ahead of the revealed word of God? the Bible? whose dreams would be more important and would we vote for the best dreamer and follow them instead? the Bible makes it more than plain that the written word is our guide...so if you find that harsh, take it up with the One who inspired it
I have had dreams that are what some call precognitive. I've also had dreams that are absurd. Or, horrifying and I'm glad I wake up and realize it was all just a nightmare. Diet and particularly eating certain foods before bedtime have a lot of effect on the unconscious mind during REM.
what does any of that have to do with the op?
I can't say God doesn't speak to us through dreams. I also can't say that God is obligated to follow any rules man sets down as what constitutes valid proof God speaks. I believe with the holy spirit within us we are to take patience and discern what is right or wrong. Even about our dreaming.
I never said God does not speak to people through dreams..so don't try and say that I did thank you. God absolutely DOES and HAS rules and one of them is His written word is above any dream or imagination.
the Holy Spirit does NOT say the opposite of the Bible. however, far too many people these days take the liberty...whether through ignorance or rebellion...just ignore that and imagine they have some fanciful thing to say that God NEVER said or intended for them to say
God is obligated to keep His word. He says so Himself. He is NOT obligated to keep our words
