.. but there's no "new thread button" I could find, but eyes failing at a young age so possibly there, possibly not. :)

So here I am, a 55 year old kid very similar to when I was 25, been through hell and still wondering why there are no miracles (or at least not the Faith type mentioned and Commanded by Christ) and why the Body is so weak and pathetic? Don't take offense to that but you have to admit, the American Body is shrivelled and weak and uninvolved in What Christ would have Us to be doing by and large.. but then again It Was (and Still Is) Our Father Who asked "will I find Faith when I come"?.. and yet again "there are none that do Good, no not one".

Some forget to forgive, others forget to forget but for the most part, in my daily life I seldom if ever run across someone who is outwardly and noticeably a Christian in Word and Deed, many have the profession but lack the Fruit Thereof. I still can't figure why when I finally decided to get baptised no church except the Messianic Jews would agree to baptise me without "joining" their "church", so I wonder if they realize how against what Christ taught that is? And if they realize the building they have is not a church and is not a place required to be a member.

I'll leave it at that for now but more about me.. raised in the time of the ending of the Vietnam War in a culture of drugs and alcohol my dad died when I was 10, youngest of 5 and the most bull headed by far, though that skull has thinned a bit, not enough.. kicked out of 2 high schools and sent to truancy school, started doing drugs and drinking at 10, lost my sister at 17 and helped raise her 2 week old son for a year and a half until her father in law took him from us in a court battle even though it was his son who killed my sister. Dropped out second year of 9th grade, went to Job Corps and learned a bit of carpentry and construction nd played in the woods of Mammoth Cave for 2 years while living there in them.

Came out, went into construction, did this, did that, jumped job to job but mainly worked for myself and now self employed doing home inspections for the last 21 years, although the Real Estate industry is trying to put me out of business because I will not play their money game helping them sell houses, and they are 99% there.

Being harassed and persecuted by some of the local police, third time thats happened in the last 20 years, and cost thousands each time not to mention the false arrests and it shows me quite clearly this world is Satan's and not Ours.. yet.

Married with children and grandchildren, haven't seen them in two years, they've forgotten me and my wife now my daughter says, but she's still fighting the father for custody and he, being the self proclaimed christian he is, won't let us in their lives.

Can't wait for the end, but would rather see some good first in all the things around me, but finding it really hard to be Salt or Light or to Bear Good Fruit despite my extreme Belief and Faith God Is and Is a Rewarder of those who diligently Seek Him.. and there lies my dilemma, not Seeking diligently enough, or hardly at all.

If I died tonight I'm pretty sure I'd be toast. And with what God has Shown me personally, quite literally, that is one scary dang thing to consider, yet I cannot understand why I still do and do not do as I should.. and definitely not to be compared to what the Apostle Paul said "For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do"

But I still have Hope in me and Only in Christ Our Saviour.

If you believe Jesus and trust in the atonement He secured by His death on the cross you will be forgiven and Redeemed to have eternal life with God forever....

If we have hope in the LORD Jesus Christ then we should be supremely confident in our own eternal destiny.. We cannot say in the same post that if we die today we are toast and that one still has hope in Christ our Saviour...

If we have hope then we know we are saved and are confident we shall never be toast..
If we believe we will be toast then we do not have hope in the LORD Jesus Christ..

Good in this world??

This world is a fallen world you will find very little within it that is good.. Except for the limited experiences of love that we may be fortunate enough to recieve from other people and the love we give them them... The Love of the LORD Jesus is the most consistent and wonderful good thing we can ever have in this world because it is not of this world..

God is here. And you are not...never...alone..... This is not an easy life, but we are to walk as Jesus walked...His walk was not easy. I agree, your life has been hard...God chooses the hardest battles for His best warriors. Keep that in mind. Paul, in the bible, persecuted Christians and had Stephen murdered. Later, Paul hung by his arms in chains and witnessed to the men who persecuted him. He found peace, IN chains. You can find it. Christ lives within your heart, not in your sight. Faith is not a vision of our eyes...but a condition of our heart therefore. A softening of the pain as we realize, Jesus knows and has experienced what we experience. Separation from the Father, ignorance, hard-hearted men and women, emotional pain, suffering...temptation...He experienced it all. All that, to say this, you are cared for... and loved -student

Thank you! While I most definitely do have Hope I also fear in that Hope.. is it the kind of fear we are commanded to have? I cannot say, but fear nonetheless since God Said work out your own Salvation in trembling and fear and James tells us faith without Works id dead. There will be many in that day that say Lord, Lord as you well know and there are many areas in His Word that warn Us to be forever with your hand at the plow.. here's to Our Saviours soon Return and also to the gathering of The Saints prior to..

Thank you! While I most definitely do have Hope I also fear in that Hope..
Why do you fear? What is at the foundation of your fear? What is causing you fear?

is it the kind of fear we are commanded to have?
Proverbs 9: KJV
10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding."

Well the Holy Bible does indeed declare that fear is the beginning of wisdom.. So fear is indeed a good thing to have in regard to God .. If one is not a believer in the LORD Jesus Christ one should fear God.. If one fears God one will investigate the will of God to try and understand how to get in the right standing / good relationship with God.. But note what the above verse says that fear is only the beginning of wisdom..

You quoted another verse i will post it below for others benefit::

Philippians 2: KJV
12 "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

Note who the verse is talking to.. It is talking to people who have not yet worked out salvation.. That is they have not yet fully understood the Way of salvation.. They need to understand the Way of salvation to be able to embrace it and be saved.. So they should be in fear if they have not understood and accepted the way of salvation.. Sadly there are people who are born into a Christian family and have attended their churches weekly and they still do not really know the Way of salvation they never bother to read the Bible for themselves and find out and a lot of churches fail to teach them this..

So fear is a great assistant to us to motivate us to seek out the will of God and to then seek out the Way of salvation God has provided for us.. So now we come to the verse that those who have believed God and accepted the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ believe..

1 John 4: KJV
18 "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. {16} And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. {17} Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. {18} There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."

Note the above verse is near to the end of the Bible.. So those who read the Gospel and seek Gods will with all their mind and heart will eventually come to the knowledge of the Way of salvation and that revelation will cast out their fear because they now know and believe the love that God has for them..

James tells us faith without Works id dead.
I like it how your post is peppered with Bible quotes:: Yes James was telling the truth because those who believe God and love Him and their fellow man will do good works.. But their salvation is never attained by doing those good works.. The good works they do are out of love and conviction of the Holy Spirit.. One of the greatest deceptions in the churches is the belief that people are saved by their many wonderful works.. This leads me to the last portion of scripture you references in your post:: :) Actually i am really loving these verses you have quoted and am enjoying posting this reply::

There will be many in that day that say Lord, Lord as you well know
Yes indeed i well know but lets look closely at what these people who will cry Lord Lord will be putting forward as justification for their place with Jesus in Eternity..

Matthew 7: KJV
22"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? {23} And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Do you see it KDMI? They where trusting in their Works to be justified before God.. Jesus will respond i never knew you to people who believed that they where Christians but had never accepted the true Way of salvation.. Which is by Knowing the gospel and believing in the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ which covers all our sins and gifts for us eternal life.. It is Not by doing many wonderful works as these people in the above scripture where boasting about..

Well i hope i have given you something to ponder KDMI.. May you be blessed for seeking the Will of God..

Be of a sound mind.. give it to God, remember we came in thus world naked.. we are to live in his will.. he has us, remember that. And we all fall short of the glory our God, only Lucifer wants us to Belive in unforgivness. Rememer we are cloaked in sin, this constant battle is a race to the end, be strong my brother...

Thank you for the lengthy reply and time taken, I have a question.. you said Paul was speaking to the unsaved when addressing the Philippians? Paul warned the Christians about some people who did not know Jesus but I am curious as to how you have equat that portion to what you have quoted in that he was speaking to the unsaved? I have more to add in other areas but no time at the present, hopefully soon.
