here is a post from you pjh from another thread:

I hardly think you are in a place to judge the op is going to hell

church is designed to keep you in infancy? that's a lie of the devil right there if you want to discuss the inroads he has made into YOUR life
Church is designed to keep you in infancy so that you don't know whats really going on in the world around you. People where never meant to form local churches.

no they will not go to hell

Christians can be oppressed or caught up in sin but that does not send them to hell

good for you if you have never had a struggle wherein you had to beg God to deliver you from it

we are carried away by our own lusts, God does not tempt us nor does He send us to hell even though we struggle
I see that you don't fear God. God is not a man, that he can just put up with our stuff. He is without spot or wrinkle. We have to keep it as spotless as we are able. Sins that we have to make an effort to do, will send us to hell. I fear God, because I know he can let me go to hell following my own lust.

If you are not simply trolling, then give up your porn and sit down with your husband and talk to him about being away from home "weeks at a time".

That's his own choice, but you have allowed him to make this choice without discussing the ramifications. So it's time to make some major changes in both of your lives, beginning with repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ, followed by a change of employers, jobs, careers, or whatever it takes.

That is the best advice.

Yeah...that's an odd remark. Gathering with other believers teaches you so much. You have to learn to bear with them, to forgive them and be forgiven, to help and be helped and so much more.

Other believers, when they have grown in some virtue and walk consistently in the Spirit, teach by their example and you are helped to learn and walk in, forgiveness, joy, love, calmness and peace.

And to learn to walk with some consistency in the Spirit IS maturing. Infancy is the opposite...

I'm married and my husband works away from home weeks at a time. So lately I have been watching porn to satisfy my sexual desires. I know that it's wrong but it's so hard to give up.I feel at times that it's better to watch porn that physically cheat on him with someone else. I'm so ashamed to talk to anyone else about it. Has anyone else had a problem with watching porn?
I remember you from 5 or 6 months ago...:)
Is the porn something your husband got you into and encouraged?
From what I have seen, it's usually the man who talks the woman into it.

I remember you talking about catching him in a dalliance with another woman online, correct?

you are very confused

you quote verses from scripture which anyone can do. stating God is not a man...that is biblical

saying He is without spot or wrinkle actually refers to those He has saved.

we do not keep ourselves as spotless as we are able

you are way off base and no advice to offer

fearing God does not mean to be AFRAID of God when the Bible tells us we can go to him because Jesus made a way for us

you are in need of advice yourself and should not be giving it to anyone

Eph 5

Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
26 to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word,
27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless

note that refers to the 'church', Christ's body you say is geared to keep you in infancy

I doubt you will listen, but it is not God telling you those things regarding church, nor is it God telling you to tell the op she is going to hell

you listen to CD's...somone perhaps is teaching you things that are not biblical or if this is your own idea, you need to understand it is not in the Bible

the 'church' is not perfect and that is because the people who go there are not perfect either but we don't go to judge each other

you are picking a verse from different and unrelated passages and creating your own message

I would advise the op to not be fearful, but to go God and just tell God how you are wrapped up in this sin

as stunnedbygrace seems to think you have been here before...I don't know...but you do know

No I have never been here before. The reason I don't quote bible verses so much is because I live it daily. If you ask anyone How do I go about getting to know God they will tell you to go to your local Church. You can ask anyone who is worldly and that is what they will tell you. Because the church is the Christian religion of the world. Jesus says this is not my kingdom. So the churches are part of the world. Here is a verse for you. 1Corinthians 1:11-15 tells about how they got away from the way the Body of Christ was started. I like to say Body of Christ because church is a building. Body of Christ are the called out ones.

Why look at porn when you can create fantasies about you & your husband instead.

Okay. So it is something you decided to try on your own.

I will tell you that I do not believe masturbation is a sin. It may make someone come in and begin to scream at me, but it's okay - I've been screamed at before and I can handle it.

But what is a sin is adultery. And porn can't be viewed without adultery because you are lusting over another man and having a sexual encounter with another man on the video.

Do you remember where Jesus said this:
Matthew 5:27-28 New International Version (NIV)
Adultery
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[a] 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

So the verse applies to women too. Just replace the word woman with the word man.
So Jesus is saying that the sin is committed in the mind and the heart even IF outward adultery doesn't happen.

So that settles the matter of whether or not watching porn is a sin. It is, because it is a man other than your husband that you are having lustful feelings for as you watch it. It cannot be viewed without committing adultery.

But it doesn't settle the matter of not being able to stop doing it. That desire is still there and even if you determine to not do it, you may still do it again even though you don't want to and you feel bad afterwards for committing the adultery.

Some well meaning Christians may tell you to just keep trying really hard to stop it but you already have those pictures of other men in your head and even if you don't watch the porn, you may be remembering it. Sometimes even WHILE having sex with your husband. So although people may mean well by telling you to just keep trying hard not to sin, they are leading you the wrong way, because if we all could stop sinning by just trying really hard to not do it in our mind and heart, Jesus wouldn't have had to die for us to cover our sins - we could just stop doing them.

Talk to God about the problem and ask for help. You will never conquer any sin except by relying and depending on Him to change your mind and heart. You just won't. You can keep yourself from doing it literally and outwardly with another man, but for your mind and heart, only He can change that. And He has said if you even do it in your mind and heart, you have already committed adultery.

And while you're waiting for Him to answer your prayer for help, if it happens again, realize that this is the whole reason He died for you. Do not get overly distraught that you are a sinner. He full well knows you are a sinner and died for you because you are a sinner, because His blood that He shed for you is for forgiveness of your sins so that you can go before God boldly to ask for the help you need. Go very boldly and speak to God about it because Jesus died so that you would be allowed to call on God as your Father, Daddy, Abba.

Do not let satan get you to depression if/when you fail and do it again. You are a sinner, so don't let him condemn you when God forgives you.

And if you wait patiently and completely trust God, He will see to your problem by beginning to change your mind and heart. And while you wait, you are covered by that Precious Blood that Jesus shed for you because He loves you and wants to have you as His.

Isn't there a woman's forum for this? There was one before the upgrade..

There's a women only forum here that would be a better place for your question. I'm not saying you can't ask here, but it's probably more suited for the woman's forum. (Unless the women's forum didn't survive the site's recent upgrade, I can't tell because its only visible to female members)

Pornography is not a problem because it shows us too much; it's a problem because it shows too little...Pornography reduces the spectacle of sex to a kind of abstracted physical act. It represents voyeurism, obsession with looking at women versus interacting with women, objectification, and fear of true intimacy. Pornography is affecting my ability to relate to women, to relate to myself, my own sexuality, my own spirituality. - Russell Brand

So it's okay if I masturbate as long as im thinking about my husband??
I don't think the Bible talks about masturbation, so again be fully convinced about whatever choice you make.

sometimes people say that you can take the part in Matthew 5 about a man lusting after a woman and turn it around to a woman lusting after a man. I'm not sure about that, men are different from women.
