and this is why you mute or outright turn off your phone for certain proceedings. I know of some churches that will put a reminder on the projector screen prior to services beginning to minimize interruptions.
I remember a service years ago that I was attending where suddenly in the middle of the sermon someone's phone started ringing. The pastor without missing as beat said, "you better answer that, it might be God calling"
and moved on with his sermon.
