Good works are not a byproduct of salvation, but the very purpose of salvation.

[Christ] who gave himself for us, that he should ransom us from all lawlessness, and should cleanse to himself an unusual people zealous of good works. Titus 2:14
Sure. We are saved to do good works, amongst other reasons. What does that have to do with the works being the cause of Salvation?

Your trust in Christ, (faith, which is a gift from God) is the MECHANISM by which you have Salvation. JESUS HIMSELF is THE Salvation.
This is exactly what I've been wanting to impress on you folks. You can't have salvation if you don't have, and keep, the mechanism of that salvation--your faith. But for some reason, believing (the mechanism of salvation) is immediately disposed of as a damnable work of the works gospel if you have to have it to be saved and stay saved.

It's being erroneously understood that since Jesus is the very essence and substance of salvation (like a lifeboat is to a castaway) then you don't have to do ANYTHING to be saved. That is completely false. You have to believe, and keep on believing, to possess the thing that does the actual saving.

Its calld pride, pride refuss to allow someone else to hel you, or you to feel helpless, pride has to have a part, or it will reject, pride rejects grace, thats why the pharisees rejected Christ,

Yes indeed, it jumps right off the page sometimes.

Like I have stated, "Christ does not save those who are trying to save themselves."

So so wrong, it is God that keeps after you after you have trusted once and fully in His saving work!!

Born Again a singular event!

There are many acts of faith we do in life that have one binding effect.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 6:37 - All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
John 10:28 - And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.

Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Romans 11:29 - For the gifts and calling of God [are] without repentance.

1 John 5:13 - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
2 Corinthians 1:22 - Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Romans 8:38-39 - For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Philippians 1:6 - Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:

LOLOL..... right ralph
Just keep believing and all these promises are yours. They belong to believers, not to ex-believers.

"1Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. " - 1 Corinthians 15:1-2

Do you believe that you will be saved if you don't hold fast the word of the gospel? Paul says you are not saved if you do not hold fast the word of the gospel.

The Twelve were not even Christians at the time Jesus spoke the parable. Jesus spoke to them with grace and truth as He did with everyone, but they were under law still.

16 “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it.
Luke 16:16

The Apostles were empowered to preach the Gospel to the lost.

And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. 2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:5-7

hey raplhie, I saw a new banner on a church in my town, that said " service time 11: 00 am, everyone is welcome"

so, if your church has a banner , does it say something like " service time 11:00 am, anyone who wants to come should show up at 9:00 am, so we can interview you, then confer amongst our self, ( we are THE Bible authority ), then decide if you can come or not.

( for those of you who do not know, ralph says his church judges who can attend and who can't based on their behavior)

God does your believing for you?
No, God Justifies you. The Holy Spirit testifies to our spirit.

So do you have to keep believing that your car is parked in your driveway for it to be there, do you have to keep believing that your sister is your sister so that her DNA does not change? Should I go on....

That's what Paul did.

6 Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

9 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.

12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.” 1 Corinthians 5:6-13

Except there are no ex-believers.

13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. Luke 8:13

  • who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.

If a person believes for a while, then no longer believes, what do you call them?

Rightly divide the word. The parable is not about eternal life and loosing salvation and that has already been shown to you.

You sound like you think that justification can't be reversed by erasing a name that was entered into the book of righteousness.

Actually, in a way that's how Paul ordered his churches. Those who were in blatant unrepentant sin were evicted. Believers were instructed to have no dealings with believers living in sin.

That's right because they are ex-born again unbelievers.
You can unbirth yourself? Good luck with that.:)

Why do you think Jesus even made the analogy of the physical reality and the spiritual reality.
You have to deny objective reality in order to deny the spiritual reality. Good luck with that too.:)
