It says that since you left you were never really saved to begin with. That is the traditional model of 'once saved always saved'. It says real believers will never leave.
I think if truly saved..are always saved..im living proof..NOT ttuly saved..easy to fall away..but only GOD knows FOR SURE if we are saved..its not OUR place to judge or convict..

Never heard of "Gods time limit" other than death

j...,

Scripture tells us to be careful and act before The Holy Spirit leaves us...It will never return.

I see that as a critical timeline...undefined...... as is physical death.

I have know folks who left Christ after many years as a devoted, church attending, witnessing, praying and righteous Christian.
One due to a sister experiencing much suffering with cancer and the other domestic situation resulting in drinking and alcoholism. No one will ever convince me that either one of them was not properly repented and committed.

This OSAS irrational fixation that one who leaves the protective umbrella of Christ was never properly there...holds no water, because the Bible acknowledges that aspect with warnings not to allow it to happen, including......."allow no man to steal your crowns".

....and properly so...who wants to know when we are to leave this earth? Not me.and I thank Him greatly for the confidence.
That awareness would stymie us in all aspects of current life. That's the reason G-d says...don't give it a minutes thought .....be prepared.

Sad that God is one of the 1st to blame in hardships when its PREDICTED in the Bible that in this world we are bound to have trials and tribulations but theres a much deeper level of intomacy if we perservere through those trials and tribulations...we also have to know that we might NEVER know why things happen..we just have to trust and have FAITH that God sees the big picture..we just see a fraction..

Heres a little story...at 20 i got married..to a christian man..had 2 babies n in the 3 yrs that we were married he had 4 afairs..he actually left the state with another woman..leaving me with 2 babies..i thought God..if this is what a christian marriage is supposed to be about..i want no part of it (my ex an i r saved..went to church..knew the bible etc) i "walked away" from the Lord for 4 yrs..didnt care..did my own thing..but aftet awhile there was an uneasiness and conviction in my spirit. (God was persuing me to come back)..and i did..i repented..fell to my knees and submitted my life to Him again...did i LOSE my salvation in those 4 yrs because i "didnt belive"? No..God was patient and is with a lot of people..it took me 4 yrs to come back..some it takes longer..others never or its too late when they die..im glad God didnt give up on me and "withdraw" His grace and salvation when i did my own thing....
To the Church in Sardis
3 “To the angel of the church in Sardiswrite:

These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 WAKE UP! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds incomplete in the sight of my God. 3 REMEMBER, THEREFORE, WHAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED AND HEARD; OBEY IT, AND REPENT. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and YOU WILL NOT KNOW AT WHAT TIME I WILL COME TO YOU.

luke 12:20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
FEAR GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.

For the newbie;
The only proof one would have is if..... during a hiatus ...death occurred and one did not receive eternal salvation.
Otherwise, we must be guided by scripture and it tells me that when we return to sinful ways...."sacrifice for forgiveness is not available where sin is present". (Regardless, it is a chance I would never take....for any reason).

I pray that nothing ever happens to test me but, I don't now anything that can remove me, even temporary, from G-d's forgiving grace.

Well the habits of the "old" sure do hang around long enough after we’re born again.
That is because your old nature (old man) trained your flesh. Now that you are a believer, you no longer have the old nature, but your flesh must still be dealt with.

Here's what you said in your Post #1,385:

So what is "the Holy Spirit".

And it's really not "the old you all over again" because the Christian is still born again. He or she may be "carnal" in behavior, but he/she does not need to be born again over and over and over each time as you state "take the Holy Spirit away".

If/when the believer sins, he/she doesn't need to be born again a second time to have fellowship restored.

See, here again you refer to the spirit received at the new birth and then claim it is "the Holy Spirit".

So which is it?

A new spirit (which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness - Eph 4:24) birthed within the born again believer?

Or "the Holy Spirit" birthed within the born again believer?

Here again you refer to the spirit received at the new birth as "the Holy Spirit".
The new birth is 'you' plus the Holy Spirit. It's not a new 'additional' you running around inside of you that has been born. It's the same 'you' but now in union with the Holy Spirit. And because it's you in union with the Holy Spirit you are different, not new as in an additional new you being born (like when you bring a baby home from the hospital).

6The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person." - 1 Samuel 10:6

See? You become a different person because of the Holy Spirit. The new creation that is born at salvation is not a new extra person in addition to you being born inside of you. The new creation is a changed and different you. And God can just as easily break union with your spirit as easily as he made it. It's not the rock that God can't lift.

All in good time. In spite of all my weaknesses, God assures me that He is at work within me both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

Actually, Ralph, it is a regeneration of the spirit ... that which was so drastically changed back when Adam sinned. Adam was created in image and likeness of God (Gen 1:27). Progeny of Adam was born in the likeness and image of Adam (Gen 5:3) and on and on throughout generations since Adam. You were born in image and likeness of your earthly parents. I was born in image and likeness of my earthly parents.

Born again ... regeneration of spirit within (which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness - Eph 4:24).

Actually, Jesus was reproving the pharisees and scribes who isolated themselves from publicans and sinners and who murmured because Jesus received publicans and sinners and ate with them … a point which you cotinue to ignore and sweep under the carpet :( (because, according to you, the pharisees and scribes were "righteous" and "just" :sneaky:).

So what happens to those who justify [themselves] before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God (Luke 16:15)?

Will they "perish in the everlasting fires of hell if they don’t repent" as you claim the sheep who is lost will (your post #1,333)?

Only those whom God justifies; which means declares to be righteous, are righteous.

The sheep who are not lost are said to be just by Jesus.

If Jesus says they are just, then who are we to say otherwise.

If lost doesn’t mean seperated from God, then why does the shepherd go after it?

So far nothing you have presented makes any sense.

Sheep that become lost must repent, and turn back to God to be reconciled with Him, or remain lost.

Very simple.

@Ralph- @justpassinthrough @preston39 ...you think people are just arguementative with you and continue to bicker to prove a point..but for some of us..including ME..its PERSONAL its our LIVES or something weve lived through that has brought us to our personal beliefs and convictions so when we share and you say its blatently WRONG..that can cut because of it being personal..our walk with God are all different and personal in different ways..we gotta remember that when in heatec debates :)
For me personally I desire to see people walking with God and being blessed in His presence, not thinking they are saved when they are actually lost.
