So before I came to work today I was already having evil thoughts. I know God is good but at my age it just hurts so much to be single. I thought when I was in my twenties I will trust God to bring me a godly woman but now being more than 50; I know this was the most foolish and stupid thing I ever did.

A workmate made a comment to me that he didn’t want to be old and single like me. I don’t blame him but man did though words cut deeper than a knife.

How can faith grow when God takes your deepest desire and just says NO!?

It was not foolish or stupid my friend did he not say seek first the kingdom of God and all else will be granted to you? I think the issue is your focused on the wrong thing, God is the one thing you should desire and be seeking above all else. Look at the apostles for instance some of the greatest men in bible history how many of them do you think settled down with a wife?

Most people who've never been married assume that life is so much better and easier when you're married. They are wrong. Just remind yourself that you dodged that bullet... and believe me, it can be a much bigger bullet than we think it is.

Thanks for the replies. I believe it to be foolish as I burn in my own lust and honestly wonder if Hebrews 13:4; I Corinthians 7:2 condemn me.

Believe me I know marriage isn’t easy. But it is better than burning in lust and losing all self respect for myself. Makes no difference when God says NO! end of story please pray that somehow God will help me grow in faith.

I know Jesus died for my sins but my thoughts led me to wondering if I will become like Solomon.

You are in Christ my friend sorry but you missed the boat of being condemned long ago lol. Also who is to say he said no? Do you remember how long it took for God to fulfill his promise to Abraham for a child? He was already so old before he had one and that wasn't even his promised child.

Keep pushing through big brother. It's not all of what it's cut out to be so I've heard lol As long as we're taking the steps to further our walk in Christ. Faith. God's will most certainly will be.

Rebuke Satan ..don't let him control your thoughts..dig deeper in the word...pray that God would take those desires away if/until a time that you marry..I KNOW it's hard..it can be done..I'm living proof!

Well you see Abraham actually had two sons, one was the promised child from god himself who would later become the symbolism of the race the jews the first child was conceived with his servant because Abraham's wife coaxed him to do so because she didn't think God was going to do as he said and Abraham gave in to his doubt and bore a son. This son of his would be the symbolism of the gentiles. However God kept his promise to Abraham even so and gave his wife a son named issac meaning laughter.

Abraham and his wife were far beyond the age to have children and she was barren to begin with so when God told her she would have a son she laughed. But the fact that Abraham could have children at all is in itself a miracle being over 100 years old yet still having a son with his servant

Oh yeah..I knew bout his first son..to ME it shows how incredible God's grace to us is..even in our unbelief of God's will..n we control our own lives..make a mess out of the..God still makes His original "will" right again..back on track (doesn't mean thiers not consiquences to our actions though)

Yes very true, even though Abraham doubted God he was still delivered the promised child. I can't how many times I should have simply believed God but didn't and yet he still showed his grace and love to me, and even though I would have to deal with the consequences even in the consequences he would be with me and he and I would learn and grow stronger together. he uses every opportunity to reach us and teach is especially in our folly

In the example given, the consequences have carried on for 4000 years. The mess in the middle east today can be traced back to the two sons of Abraham.
