This thread reminds me of a song....I've got the devil under my feet. Holy Ghost holding him down there.

The devil he don't like this fire Lord he's afraid of the Holy Ghost and fire Lord. I've got the victory under the blood and there ain't nothing the devil he can do now.

There is nothing the devil can do against the power of God. He can try, but if we submit to God and his power and resist the devil he will flee because he has to. The enemy cannot stand against the power of God. He can do no more than God allows.

We are not to fear the enemy.

2 Timothy 1
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

I believe he means the
Malachi 3:2-3

"But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap. "He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the LORD offerings in righteousness.
Zechariah 13:9

"And I will bring the third part through the fire, Refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested They will call on My name, And I will answer them; I will say, 'They are My people,' And they will say, 'The LORD is my God.'"

I still see this as being tried by fire not baptized with fire.

The verses you posted before talked about throwing the chaff in the unquenchable fire. To me the unquenchable fire is the Lake of Fire. It is the fire that burns forever the unquenchable fire.

But John did say water, Holy Spirit and baptism of fire. Fire is suffering. We have to go through the fire, to get us ready. So that we will be without spot or wrinkle.

Tried or tested by fire is a very old term used back when con men used alchemy and cheap metals like copper, tin, and lead [for weight] to counterfiet precios metals and coins. The metalurgists would melt it down and since the fake stuff would be made of alloys with different melting points and weights so they would seperate when melted like oil and water but the real stuff just melted like butter without losing it's value so when you let cool and solidify no harm done. The bible dosn't explain much about it because most people knew what meant. It was replaced by the acid test.

Before that when wheat [and maybe rice] was of great value and we were on the barter system before money, they would use a tool like a pitch fork and throw the grain harvest into the air into the wind and the good stuff would just fall right down to the ground but the chaff was the waste. Not good for much besides building fires would just blow away but could still be collected and used for fire. It wasn't heavy or strong enough to be used but add fiber to hand made bricks to keep them from shattering. The California missions were built this way.

Now as for Baptisim of fire. I think it refers to being filled with the Holy Spirit which began at Penticost and became visable as tounges of fire but also filled the souls who were so blessed that speaking in tongues, prophecy and healing the sick also became evident. It makes us desire to do work for the Lord rather than hiding it like a lamp under a basket. Or valuables in jars of clay

Yes, we do have to be go through the fire (trials) and be tested. I just don't view this as a baptism.

We just don't view what John said the same because I still see it as being baptized by water then the (Holy Spirit and Fire). To me this means we are baptized and receive the Holy Spirit and Fire (Power).

In one of your posts you stated there are three baptisms. Trials are ongoing and we will face them throughout our lives so this wouldn't make them a one time baptism in my opinion, anyhow. Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire is a done deal. You don't have to be re-baptized. You can continue to grow in the Holy Spirit and power throughout your life, though.

We may not see eye to eye on this, but I have enjoyed our conversation. God bless you:)

Thanks for the info and history on being tried and tested by fire.

So in essence being tried or tested by fire represents the trials and tribulations we must go through to see if we're worthy and remain faithful. Of course only God knows the answer already but we really don't know untill after the Devil puts us to the test. He tested Jesus too...........

Okay, I'm not going to get you to believe that th
these attacks started just after I went to a fortune teller.
The psychics have demons around them. Who tell them things about you. If you paticipate in any of that kind of activity, it opens the door for demons to harass you.

Hebrews 12 King James Version (KJV)
12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Karen, there is no reason why you should have to live in this torment, rebuke this enemy and put him under your feet where he belongs. Have you ever fasted? If not, you might want to read up on the subject, and ask the Lord how long he would have you to fast for, then do it. Break the chains of darkness off of you, once and for all, submit to God, resist the enemy and he will flee from you, send an email to this address, and ask them to pray, it is a Christian radio station, they will pray, but they will not respond, [email protected] you can find them online at WJCR 90.1 Fm radio station, Upton, Ky. Listen to their music at night and all during the day, the devil will not stay where God is being glorified. Are you affiliated with a group of Christians? Do you meet regularly with them? for prayer, fellowship and the word? If not, this is very important. God bless you.

This is quite simply not a demonic attack. It is a mental illness, if it has lasted so consistently. Have you ever seen a medical doctor? You need medical help.

Yes, God could heal you. But you have bad theology, and you are not self aware as to the true cause of your problem. So work with doctors, and God will be there. I would not have posted in this old thread, but since the OO brought it up, it needs a comment!

PS Whatever you have been doing has not worked. Seven years later, it is time to go with conventional therapies and treatments! I promise you, you will not lose your soul. God is in control, not demons or Satan!

Certainly

Oh Lord, please give my sister Karen peace in this matter. Please give her wisdom and insight to know your will and strength to do it.

Like Jesus talked about, amen!

I started getting attacked when I was age nineteen, as I lay asleep at night demons approach from behind me I could sense evil, demons was squeezing my hips I was in absolute agony, a demon was screaming down my ear really loudly it was deafening it sounded like a wolf, something half human and half beast many of them, I was trying to wake up once I finally awoken from my sleep I was all alone again

These attacks went on for 18 months

Had many attacks like this on me always feeling the agonising pain in my hips; I have never felt pain this way before.

It got to the stage I was too afraid to go to sleep at night.

Imagine you in the middle of a black dark forest and your there on your own there no light complete black darkness how afraid would you feel? That’s what the darkness felt like.

Age twenty three I had a wind shoot up my back and I felt something enter my left ear, pure fear wrapping its self around my body, it was a demonic snake pure evil, it made me feel defiled, it wrapped itself around my forehead went down by back and then wrapped itself around my left leg and foot, the inside of me felt like it was shaking I was not at peace, thoughts enter my thoughts from outside,. As I lay in bed at night I could feel hands one hand in particular resting very gently on my back finger nails as sharp as the point of a knife, it could easily rip me to pieces at any time, the snake was sexual.

Imagine a gun put to your head and then somebody slowly counting down from 10 to the big bang how afraid would you feel? That’s how afraid I felt.
If I tried to sleep at night a hand would nude my side to wake me up, other times I was hit on my head with something it felt like being hit in my mind by electric shock that would then run down throughout my whole body to my feet, it was scary

If I tried to get on with my life or tried to read the holy bible or tried to sleep at night the fear around my body would become more intense to stop me as if to tell me you’re not doing either of those things.

I had not been to sleep for a few days on the third night I was in bed I was really frightened, I never seen anyone I heard a woman voice it was the most gently the most peaceful voice I have ever heard, and said to me do not be afraid they cannot harm you and they no that so don’t worry, when I heard the voice I was not surprised, I thought to myself I am not afraid of them. Over the next many years those words really helped me

WHO WAS THAT Woman I would love to know?

Well that’s how I have lived over the last twenty seven years, day and night I’ve been tormented harassed and terrorised.it has robbed me of my whole life.
I was in the care of angels sometimes they spoke to me to help me.

Satan demons stopped me each and every time I tried to read the holy bible
When I did start to read it I had a vision of God

After the vision I become hyper sensitive to evil I could recognise sin whereas before I was blind to it
The vision I will post it on this forum when I finish writing it out.

Mental illness is a myth. It is a direct spiritual assault! I have suffered in a similar way, and no medications can take it away because it is NOT a physical illness. Read scripture. We are not alone. Demonic attacks are prevalent throughout the Bible.

I am so sorry for your suffering! I, too, have suffered because of spiritual warfare. No one can understand if they have not walked this horrible walk. We do not choose this suffering. I struggle to understand why Jesus does not deliver us from this horrific pain. There is no greater pain!
