Here is a law we obey. We are to return any possession we should find that is lost by our enemy.........this would be part of Love.

I should add because when we do Love God so, we will do the rest in our natural state by the Holy Spirit's encouragement, and our own new person. It is alls o good.

brother, that is exactly the first thing that popped in my head when i saw the thread title :)
Deuteronomy 22

and it's interesting, you don't find this in the 10 commandments. if you just keep '10 commandments' you never arrive at this: but if you keep, 'love one another as I have loved you' -- you do this without need of specific written command to do so. because this is what Jesus of Nazareth has done for us!!! we were lost, and He found us, had compassion, and cared for us, and brings us back to the Father

Jesus teaches us directly from His Gospel just how to understand the law under mercy and grace, while later the Holy Spirit was given by Him to confirm what we learn, and to literally teach us truth.

I love the reference to the Angel of Salvation in Isaiah............I just wonder Who that could be.

When we truly Love God, as I have already mentioned, we obey all of the law, including commandments and anything Jesus instructs us to do.......they are not suggestions, right?

Peter bade Him "command me to come to you on the water"

i reckon he knew that being commanded would necessarily entail being empowered. and he began to sink not because of disobedience, but because his faith gave way to fear when he saw the wind and waves. he had asked for a command, and his flesh disobeyed it when fear overshadowed his faith.
when he said, "
save me!" immediately the Lord reached out His hand and preserved him -- which is fantastic !!

For me, I have always understoo the water to be the troupled nations, peoples, of this age, and we are given faith to walk upon the water. I believe we al do from the moment we beliee Jesus Christ.

Peter had faith, but had not yet received the dHoly Spirit, not in full. When the water rose up, he forgot the faith he had. Of course he continued in faith and received much more. Ergo Jesus would say, Oh you of little faith.

I believe Jesus says this to me regularly......I pray to get over that before called to cross Jordan.. Praise God, amen.

this is a trustworthy saying: "when we are faithless, He remains faithful"

the Spirit in us intercedes, when we don't know how we ought to pray. at the right hand of God, there He is, interceding for us, perpetually -- He says, make straight the way! and behold! it is become straight, a level plane: He will do all His will :)

In posting this thread I had hopes of connecting with lots of brethren wh have read the law and studied it somewhat, and who hav learned of Jesus, Yeshua, how it is because of His coming and acting and teaching.

I am sad this thread has gone to be back so quickly with no one interested in the OT's understanding, prophecy and wisdom. God bless all who are in Jesus, Yeshua always, amen.

PS. 27:13-14.
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of The LORD in the land of the living.
Wait on The LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen YOUR heart: wait, I say, on The LORD.

HEB. 5:9-10.
And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him;
Called of God an High Priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Leviticus 19:15, "‘Do no unrighteousness in right-ruling. Do not be partial to the poor or favor the face of the great, but rightly judge your neighbor in righteousness."

James 2:1-4, “My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. 2For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, 3and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,” 4have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

here is a part of the Law we obey by spirit and not in the least by letter

Exodus 20:24-26
An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you. If you make me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stones, for if you wield your tool on it you profane it. And you shall not go up by steps to my altar, that your nakedness be not exposed on it.
