In 1 Kings 19, when Elijah was fleeing for his life from Jezebel, the Scriptures say that God was not in the wind, fire or earthquake. Instead, He was a still small voice that spoke to Elijah to comfort and reassure him.
However, there are other Scripture passages where God WAS in the fire, the wind and the earthquake
In Daniel 3, the pre-incarnate Christ was the "fourth man" in the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego (sp?)
In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit comes as a mighty rushing wind (as well as tongues of fire)
In Acts 16, Paul and Silas are released from prison as the result of a powerful earthquake.
Just thought of this today......
