I said nothing of the sort.

one unifying power, appointed for life, reigning over individual plots of land each with limited autonomy but subject in areas of military and trade?

what do you see as being essentially different between your scheme than a kingship over individual earldoms?

Go ahead and report what you want. And when they read what I have said, they will ask you....where did you get all that? Then you will have to tell them, well, I didn't really read it all.

Quantrill

i only report bots spamming astrology services via 1-900 phone calls. most trolls do themselves in soon enough i don't bother, but once in a while we get 50 identical sales pitches all over the forum in the middle of the night, & that's stuff that really should be deleted.
just telling you that the news section is where most political discussion takes place.
round here, we generally talk about the earth being flat, the illuminati controlling people with sub-sonic frequencies, and demons entering people's souls when they eat horseradish. often the only people who take any of the threads in this section seriously are the ones who starts them.

i guess if there's any such thing as a right place on this forum for someone to express themselves as a treasonous conspirator against the unified national government of America, this is, erm, it??

You now change your wording which is what I disagreed with as I never said such a thing. But I see you want to give buzz words for the NSA, so as to misrepresent.

Big deal. What a waste of words and time.

yeah that's kinda how i feel about this whole section, and i'm not alone in that by any means.

but i do enjoy tearing up flat-earth propaganda for example because it's a good exercise in logic & inference of fact from observation. destroying bad arguments is often a good way to deepen understanding of good ones, and along the path of it there is increase of knowledge and understanding. sometimes you can prove a theory in math by proving all other cases are impossible - proof by contradiction. that's what i've found to be the usefulness of this section to be in my time here.

Granted we’re going strictly for a logical conclusion in this case, the premise “Secession etc.” is followed by a perfectly logical conclusion “peace in the USA”, hence the country of which the secessionists are leaving will not exist anymore, which again makes an unrest, war etc. impossible. 😛

i didn't *want* to give buzzwords for the NSA; i realized that in natural conversation with you the vocabulary had already arisen naturally on its own.

i see you didn't answer that question you responded to; let me rephrase it again ((because individually tailoring & varying vocabulary while describing an abstraction is statistically successful method of communication)) -- you're suggesting the abolition of the federal government and replacement it with a central absolute authority in terms of the flow of wealth and the control of armed fighting men, with individually semi-autonomous ((in terms of local social norms)) population centers.
how does this differ in your view from feudal subjugation and vassalage of states under a relatively benign empire?

Again, no we don't. What I described is a Supreme Court that doesn't dictate over the States. It would have authority only in areas of military, national defense, and trade. All other issues would be settled by the State. You don't have that now.

With the power lessened from the Fed. Supreme Court, it won't matter as much how they are chosen as they will have less influence upon each state.

Quantrill
Just like the word Liberal, I don't think you understand what the supreme court is.

If you had been paying attention to what I have said you would know that I recognize the last time a 'peaceful' secession was tried it ended up in a War between the States. My point is that we can learn from history and not 'repeat' the same mistake.

Apparently you haven't kept up with what has been said or your would not ask me your question concerning the 'division'. So, go back and reread. Educate yourself.

Quantrill
The divided country is comprised of 50 states that are individually divided so exactly what states are going to secede if each state is already divided? What states remain part of the United States and benefit from military protection, the US Treasury and the existing economic system? Are you suggesting that the Christians secede from the US and as a result cannot defend themselves? You cannot have an economy if there is no legal tender to fund it and keep it going so are you suggesting some sort of barter system? What exactly is this division that you mention anyway and why should anyone care? Please educate me by answering these very basic questions as I certainly have better things to do with my time then reading 240+ posts.

The cut and run when the stuff gets deep brigade always touts itself as patriotic. Since secession won't happen it only serves to show us who is not an American.

You're arguing with yourself as you are not presenting what I have said. It's an old trick. You're not fooling anyone. You have nothing to offer against what I have said. So you must redefine and then argue with yourself.

No one has said anything about 'flat earth' except you. How stupid.

That is what you said.

Where did I suggest the abolition of the federal government? I didn't. Less power to the Federal government, yes. That is not abolition.

It differs in that the States are free to live under the type of government they want. The Federal govt. still exists. It has authority but less authority then it did.

Thus the people of each state are free to decide the way they want to live.

What is stopping you right now from how you want to live?

Which right have you been denied presently?

Does anyone here read what has been said before they comment? You and others ask questions that do not pertain to what I have said. You simply are a knee jerk reaction to a post.

You give each state the right to decide how it wants to be governed. By the vote. You let each state vote on the issues and then do not let the Supreme Court override that vote. Abortion, homosexuality, guns, and any other hot button issues, you let the State decide for itself. You do not let the Supreme Court decide how the State is going to be run.

So, go read what I have said before. If you don't care, fine. But don't respond without reading what I have already said.
