I'm going to share my time in study of Luke 24:29-35. I welcome your thoughts pondered on these scriptures too...

But they urged Him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is now nearly over." So He went in to stay with them. When He had reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and blessed it, and breaking it, He began giving it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight. They said to one another, "Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?" And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found gathered together the eleven and those who were with them, saying, "The Lord has really risen and has appeared to Simon." They began to relate their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
Luke 24:29‭-‬35 NASB

Can you imagine walking with Him, witnessing first hand all His glorious and miraculous journeys? Can you fathom not leaning in to His every word? Can you imagine having Him teach us, so up close and personal, what the scriptures teach and what was to happen, that they still were oblivious, needing convincing of His resurrection? I liken that to our resisting the notion of His promised return.

You might say, “how can we compare, they had Him right there in front of Him?”. Let me try and explain. First of all, in our time we get a connection that brings us together, where His abiding becomes ours. He lives not just with us but in us. Come on be honest with yourself, how many of His miracles, starting with your first breath, have you personally experienced? How many have had that same encounter with regards to the scriptures, a burning in our hearts as the Holy Spirit explains them? How often do we need to renew our thoughts in His truths, to know how the power of them keeps our eyes and hearts open? We learn, time and time again, that His revealing is not elusive. Yet, in our foolishness, we still doubt Him and neglect to sing His praises.

Breaking His bread with us, His who follow, do we not feed off the nutrition of communion in His word? Isn't this how He was recognized back then, and how He is still. So no, I don't worship the bible, just the One who sits with me while I feast on His word.

I am still so foolish sometimes, though, trying to figure stuff out, attempting to grasp and understand.. We must realize that digging in, chowing down is not futile; the satisfaction found, though, is not in our head knowledge, but in our hearts knowing Him. The familiar invested connection comes with time spent in praise and worship. I love learning. I believe that His design is obvious, that seeking Him brings His revealing. The quest and urge to know Him is good. The finding and trusting, not forgetting, comes with resting in His truths, not striving. We, with His help, are able to recognize that He is. We must be hearers and doers, balanced in every way. We must recognize Him in the hearing, then bless Him and others by sharing Him in the doing.

It's obvious you spend much quality time in your Scriptures. Your house is probably a mess, but your heart is really clean! :)

My wife would have really liked you. She loved her Bible also and I don't know how she found the time to devour God's Word and take care of me at the same time.

With the help, I reckon, of Her Heavenly Father. I suspect her doing so well was empowered by her hearing Him. Thank you for telling me that she would have liked me. I am honored. I pray you are doing ok.
