I have spoken before about my mom (step mom of over 40 years actually) and she was on HOSPICE ready to move home. She had not eaten in over a month, and I tried to force feed her baby food. Anyway I sent her to the hospital, instead of dyeing of starvation. My mom has MS and cannot move without help and she keep saying she was sorry to me for everything. … She is now in a rehab facility and thriving... The fact I called 911 instead of HOSPICE and let her die (gracefully)…. she gets she is loved and her life matters.... In a few short weeks (along with medical marijuana (a miracle drug for the dyeing)… my mom has the will to eat and live....

I suppose there can be a few topics in this post.... I am my brothers keeper.... from the old to the in utero… THE PEOPLE THAT CANNOT DEFEND FOR THEMSELVES!!!!

The medical marijuana that makes my mom hungry has the THC removed that would get her high... It is in pill form... So is smoking, with the THC that gets you high really medically necessary?

Many will disagree with this and I could care less....my grandmother who was as godly as they come died of cancer.....had she asked me to find her some weed to help with her chemo sickness and or pain...I would have in a New York second........!!! It is rather hypocritical....we take every drug under the sun made by man to ease every ailment we may have and then disregard the one that grows naturally.....

Wisdom is justified of her children!!

No......they could take the pill like your Mom......prayers for her........BUT, THEN, they wouldn't get HIGH!

IMO, the vast majority of folks taking advantage of the Medical MaryJane thingy are just stoners............

A friend that lived in California told me that the Doctors there would write a prescription for the stuff at the drop of a hat. He also said that there were instances where Doctors sold the prescriptions. Now, that is probably true, since a person has to go to a Doctor and pay for the Visit to get the prescription...........soooooo

Now and again, we get a Master Herbalist here on CC.............I love it when we do, cuz they can be really funny

Many decades ago, over five that is, I became ill with severe pain. Walking home along the lake to my home I would double over in pain, so I thought I should go to the doctor.

I was diagnosed with colitis. There are several members of my family diagnosed with the same since then some developed into Crones Disease.

The pain wa severe. The doctor gave me darvon and thorazine to take regularly. I took them according to directions for two days but I felt so ridiculous and nonfunctional that even though I had yet to know Jesus by the Holy Spirit, I said to myself or to God, "I will either get better or I will die, but I am not going to continue in this stupor."

Throwing the drugs away, I never had too severe attacks again, though on occasion I do have an attack...

In spite of this, marijuana used to relive pain and certain other side effects should be allowed for those who need it. I know that people would use both of the drigs I had been given as tripping drugs, so what is the difference…..all get people high or in a supor.

The difference is that a person taking a prescription drug that makes them "high" is doing so NOT for the high, but for the relief of chronic pain.......Chronic pain left untreated can easily lead to severe depression and suicide.

Those smoking weed just to get high and hiding their desire behind a medical need are the problem.........

Without my 'scrips, I'd be laying in a corner somewhere, curled up in the fetal position praying to die....... The 'scrips I take are strong, but the pain is so intense, that any "high" is lost due to the fact that so much is required JUST TO manage the pain, and lower it to a level that allows me to survive.........

i suppose aspirin would be better if that would do the trick but I've been a medical misfit my whole life. I was born with asthma which progressed to COPD,I have cancer,Ive had (radio active injections),cat scans,lived at MDAnderson,,Houston,,,

I was a 200lb man but after months of radiation treatments and Chemotherapy five days a week I weighed 160lbs and took rolls of quarters in my pockets to weigh in each day to keep them from putting a feeding tube in me(it's hard to hide more than three or four rolls so maybe 150,lol).

At first I had an appetite but after about two weeks the flavor of food began to seem as though it was watered down. I have Squamous cell carcinoma(ugly cancer see images,lol). After about eight weeks everything I tried to eat tasted like "swamp water"...Cisplatin isn't as good as salt and pepper but who would know but me? I ask a doctor once because he told me they had them do the medical treatments on each other in med school if he had taken radiation or Chemo and he said "well no" and I told him I didn't think so. Anything else would seem like a script from the twilight zone so I'll stop,lol pots a tricycle...

I'm sorry to hear about you mum but glad she's doing well now she's got a care plan in place. With regards to the medical marijuana. I've seen evidence that basically suggest sometimes it works better with THC and sometimes without. At the moment in the UK we're being flooded with CBD products which is basically cannabinoid oils with the THC removed. They seem to be helping a lot of people.

THC gets you high but there's also a lot of evidence that it affects the pain pathways. I'm considering going to the doctors with my grandmother in the new year and seeing if there is anything they can give her. She's currently on lots of different opiate/opioid painkillers and I think medical marijuana would help her.

I really do not like that news of your ordeal, and it is certain you like it even less. My prayers are for you in Jesus, Yeshua's name.
My health life has been what I may only refer to as weird but for some reason I have been blessed with not a lot of pain. i DO NOT LIKE YOUR PAIN. i LOST ONE OF MY SISTERS TO BONE CANCER AND i HAD BEEN IN DAILY CONTACT WITH HER TO THE LAST. sHE WAS IN LOVE WITH Jesus, so no problem in that department. I will not bore you with moe…..but you I must keep in prayer. All love in Yeshua.....j

I'm sorry that your mother and you had to go through all this, and I hope she is doing fine now. As for marijuana, it really helps people, that's why I'm for its legalization, but only for medicinal purpose. I'm not a user, but I add hemp oil in my food as it is rich in vitamins (it is THC-free). Recently I've decided to read some info about it and found the article hemp oil vs cbd oil that explained me the difference between these two oils. As I understood, cbd oil is more concentrated than weed, so the needed dose is smaller. So, if someone has to use cannabis, I think, it is better to explore this subject in more detail.
