How do we quiet our minds, what does studying to be quiet really look like? Words said by a hyper, overthinking, constantly striving, over complicated mind. Anxiety and restlessness are so nurtured when we desperately try and figure ourselves and others out… what a futile quest. I will say it has its place, though, lol. I find mankind to be full of research projects, lol. However, the one who should be examined, lol, is the one doing the research, hahaha...dang it and stuff. Once the inner dwellings become chaotic, erratic, and loud, to a foolish state of omnishambles, it is His face we need to seek…

Seriously, do we yearn His discernment and wisdom, or just the stuff we think we can figure out? If one is bouncing of the walls, here, there and everywhere, how on earth or heaven is one going to find His guidance, His rest, His peace, His assurance, and everything else that comes with Him. True surrendering and trust are found when we just chill at His feet.

Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually.
1 Chronicles 16:11 NASB

Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise, therefore, and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the Lord ."
1 Chronicles 22:19 NASB

and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 NASB

that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;
Acts 17:27 NASB

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6 NASB

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:8 NASB

Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:12‭-‬13 NASB

The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God.
Psalms 14:2 NASB

One thing I have asked from the Lord , that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.
Psalms 27:4 NASB

Verse after verse makes it clear that our rest, direction and focus comes in Him, through Him, in seeking Him, first and foremost, at His feet, humbly, worshipping Him, allowing our hearts to burn as His Holiness reveals Himself as He sees fit.

I came across this earlier today…

The heavenly things are eternal and unchangeable. When we live before God’s face, we are free from people and the unrest that comes from living before their face....Written by Sigurd Bratlie… Whoa a thousand BAMs!!!

Makes me think on this…

For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
Galatians 1:10 NASB

I think this one shows us how we know we are going the right way, His way…

O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me. But those who seek my life to destroy it, Will go into the depths of the earth.
Psalms 63:1‭-‬4‭, ‬7‭-‬9 NASB

I'm not sure I can help, smiles. I'm sure I can try.

If you really want to embark on this mission of stillness and quietness;
it can't be a part time, now and then thing. It's a commitment that needs
to be followed through on a daily basis. As important is time of day so it
can become a habit. About twenty minutes a day will work. Even if you
set something else aside, it is worth the spiritual journey. Lectio Divina
( Divine Word ) is a good way to start. It takes practice so it may take a
little while but don't give up. The first couple of minutes or so, it is
necessary to be at peace, long deep breaths of relaxation. Then read a
few verses of scriptures, randomly chosen. About ten is enough, even a
little fewer. Set the bible aside and concentrate on nothing else but
those words and what they say to you. And it is not the words saying
but God saying but trust the message. If that doesn't come right away,
just know that is normal because this is a discipline. It is worth the
effort. For the first time just try this without the above method.

In solitude say,

Be still and know that I am God

pause a few seconds

Be still and know that I am

pause

Be still and know

....

Be still and

....

Be still

....

be

stay calm for maybe 20 seconds

relax, smiles.

Applicable, tangible and solid advice. Thank you, Dusty, I so very much appreciate it.
