The French ain't no chickens, going back to the French Revolution they know how to put the ruling powers in their place.

From the BBC:

Police in Paris have fired rubber bullets and tear gas as a fourth weekend of anti-government protests across France turned violent.

The French interior ministry said 118 people had been injured in the protests in several cities, including 17 law enforcement officers.

More than 500 people have been taken into custody.

The "yellow vest" movement opposed fuel tax rises but ministers say it has been hijacked by "ultra-violent" protesters.

An estimated 125,000 demonstrators gathered across the country during the day, with 10,000 of them in the capital, where the scenes were the most destructive.

In a television address on Saturday evening, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said the "casseurs" (troublemakers) were still at work.

So, who are you? De Gaulle? Try "Vive l'Ouest libre!"

I am part French. Probably once you have had your country go through two world wars, where you get overrun by Germany, (although technically the Vichy government capitulated!) you aren't willing to put up with a lot!

That's what we need in Canada, riots against the Marxist dictator Trudeau 2.0, after selling our borders to the UN, trying to get himself a seat in the security council, driving the country into ruin with his total inability to comprehend economics, and making all these unilateral decisions to change the entire country, with never a word about it in his election platform.

October 2019 can't come soon enough!

Here is a vest with their demands. It is not just about the gas tax, apparently. With some exceptions, it sounds like a populist movement to me!

No small surprise that the socialists want to pay considerably less taxes than they do now but they want the government to substantially increase services at the same time.

I guess the socialists in France are dumber than the socialists here.

Some of those demands aren't bad specially making the greedy capitalists pay their fair share of tax. A lot if it is totally off the wall.

As for this "Official Charter Yellow Vest movement", I doubt whether they have more than a couple of hundred supporters that probably would do better in straight jackets.

That's true, the idea was right - that's the problem with revenge fueled by inequality.
