It's truly sad when someone thinks they know it all and are not willing to listen and maybe learn something.

Perhaps you could listen every now and then and consider what is being said instead of following a false gospel that does not save.
learn what? how to reject the meaning of words and just make up my own?

ignore context and chronological order?

no , fran, when I see a word, look up the definition, I accept that definition. that is called accepting truth.

but, you and passing through. just keep making it up as you go along, but , you will not end up in a good place...

Gee. Thanks again for sending me to hell....
I'll bet there's a rule against members telling other members that they're going to hell.

Do YOU have the authority from God to judge the state of my soul?
Maybe you could study some theology?
Theologians are very good at explaining the bible...
also biblical scholars.
Sometimes they shed light on things not understood very well.
Paul said some really difficult things,,,maybe we need help with them?

Three important rules of Bible interpretation are:

Grammatical/
Literary ContextHistorical ContextCultural/
Religious Context

The latter two of these are usually ignored in most Bible studies as you have to go outside of the Bible to get the information, something frowned upon in Christian study groups, under the well-meaning but ignorant assumption that you ONLY need Scripture to interpret Scripture.

As a test, what if a child began studying the New Testament and wanted to know what Rome, a centurion, and a legion, all meant? Could you explain these terms using only the Bible? Of course, not. You would have to turn to an encyclopedia or other extra-Biblical resource. If this is true for simple historical references, how much more true is it for ancient Hebrew spiritual concepts that Paul, Yeshua and others in the New Testament often cite?

God did give us the intellectual ability to search for true meaning and correctly interpret His Word (Acts 17:11; 2 Timothy 2:15). To say that one need "only rely on the Holy Spirit," for understanding of the text, is both foolish and unscriptural, as it implies that the Spirit could contradict God's intended meaning as conveyed by the author writing within His Hebrew culture.

We are to search and study, rightly dividing the Word (according to Torah) with God's Spirit. We are not to casually read and wait for some "personal enlightenment." This is how false teachings come about, how cults are formed and how people fall into grave sin without realizing it.

there is also a rule that banned people cannot just make up a new name, and come back.

is that rule being applied here? in this thread? with a certain person?

Hello. What false gospel are we talking about here? Could you explain to me. I know you love me enough to explain it to me.

Its probably in some earlier messages but I only started following this thread recently.
there is also a rule that banned people cannot just make up a new name, and come back.

I REALLY don't think making up a new name can get one back in....
But this is totally irrelevant to our discussion.
Have you nothing important to say regarding my last post?

well, since I asked you 2 days ago and again yesterday about the Sermon on the Mount, and if you keep those standards 24/7, and you have yet to address this, perhaps you could go ahead and do so, and then I will address your post.

fair enough??

so, in other words, you reject the actual definition of words because the actual definition does not fit your religious beliefs.

Another ad hominem.

Please discuss the scripture not what you are trying make up about what I believe.

Like I said, Bible dictionary’s are a good place to start.

However, when we have a biblical word or term defined in the scripture by its context, then we need to apply it to our understanding.

Sound advice....when are you going to take it and listen to us....faith plus anything to gain, maintain, keep, embellish, finish or top off salvation is the false gospel you are speaking of...........see Galatians and the words of JESUS concerning the many that name him as Lord and expect to enter based upon their works....exactly what you teach and espouse Fran

Faith only works through obedience.

Faith all by itself is dead and can not save.

Amen! Good deeds are subsequent to regeneration.

We obey the gospel by choosing to believe the gospel. Romans 10:16 - But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” Those who have done so have repented in the process of changing their mind and choosing to believe the gospel. This is how we turn to God. Acts 20:21 - testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ

I am sure you will agree with the following:

Hebrews 11:6 (HCSB)
6 Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.

Now where does that FAITH COME FROM?

John 6:44 (HCSB)
44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.

Now it is amazing how many Christians want to take full credit for Choosing GOD.

John 15:16 (HCSB)
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name [according to HIS will], He will give you.

Hi gb9, yes Fran has violated forum rules as she has admitted being banned in her post. Being banned from a forum is usually caused by violating the forums, "Terms of Use", they do this by blocking your IP address.
Why do YOU think I was "banned"??
Fran is a bad girl for sure and by returning to the forum she has further violated this forums terms of use, she needs to be "Re-banned" for defying forum rules until she stops returning and causing divisions and bad feelings among posters.

so, using actual greek words and their definitions is an " ad hominem ".

well, since most of the New Testament is written in greek, maybe we should consider this language and its meanings..

again, you have no authority over Scripture, to do with as you will. this is what you are doing when you ignore the actual definitions of words, and just apply your own opinions.

submit your self to the authority of Scripture, and accept what it says, instead of trying to force your belief system over it.

Galatians3:3-9
3)
Are you so foolish? After starting in the Spirit, are you now finishing in the flesh? 4) Have you suffered so much for nothing, if it really was for nothing? 5) Does God lavish His Spirit on you and work miracles among you because you practice the Law, or because you hear and believe? 6) So also, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” 7) Understand, then, that those who have faith are the sons of Abraham. 8) The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and foretold the gospel to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” 9) So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
Faith only works through obedience.

Faith all by itself is dead and can not save.JLB
Hi JLB, faith is a gift from God, we are saved by Grace through faith and that "not of yourself", it is the gift of God." and I know you know this scripture verse.

The bible is clear and supports that Christians are saved by faith alone as was our Father Abraham

Galatians5:6 say's faith works through love not obedience. Obedience is evidence that our faith is real.

Ephesians2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God

Galatians5:6
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love

That is a very interesting way of putting the spiritual growth process, Thank You! But the process will not be COMPLETE, until HE gives us that glorified Body in the Resurrection, when the SANCTIFICATION PROCESS of our Human Body will be complete.
Agreed..

And BTW,
I do see many of the qualities taught in Mathew 5:3-10 missing in some on this thread.
EVERYONE should know the sermon on the mount by heart,,,but apparently not many really understand it.

understanding? don't know.

but 1 thing is for sure- you sure do not want to address the standards set fourth in the Sermon on the mount , and if you ( so big on obedience ) obey them 100% of the time...

typical.

you go on and on about obedience, until someone asks about YOUR obedience to the ultimate standards laid fourth in the Sermon on the mount, then you refuse to discuss it.

0 credibility when you speak of what others do, then refuse to do so about yourself.

Would you care to comment on the actual scripture and teaching of Christ?

Or are you just going to creat a false narrative, to deny His doctrine.

The truth isn’t going to change just because you don’t like it.

And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.
“So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.” Matthew 18:34-35

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 9

No. I'm good. Thanks for asking though.
