Not By Works

What Paul said in Galatians 5:19-21 is true, yet JPT misinterprets this passage of scripture to teach that those who practice sin and will not inherit the kingdom of God includes those who are born of God, in contradiction to 1 John 3:9 (NASB)

Paul is speaking to the Church at Galatia.


He is exhorting them to walk in the Spirit, so that they do not practice and fulfill the works of the flesh.


I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:16-21


How can unbelievers who do not have the Spirit, walk in the Spirit?

But people try to sneak in works thru the backdoor by saying, "But if you don't show works after you are saved, then that faith is dead, and you are not REALLY saved.

And I'm talking about authority and power here now. I looked up the definitions and posted what I found. So don't believe me, look for yourself.

Again....a different period of time from the first scripture you are using. Both speak of dominion, but one is for now.....and mostly those with an office, though God uses any He chooses. The other is when Jesus appoints positions to those He chooses to rule with Him in the new earth and heavens.

I disagree with his interpretation of inherit the kingdom. So does Strongs.

For your interpretation of kingdom of God, it's really should read kingdom of heaven. They are two different places.


Also, I made a mistake on post 83019. It should be kingdom of God, not inherit the kingdom.
