Salvation is a prize. Faith is a gift.
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8 (AMPC) - For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God.

The bible is clear.....the gifts and calling of God are IRREVOCABLE........exactly why JESUS/PAUL/JOHN use the words everlasting life and or eternal life.

SALVATION is a gift of GRACE through FAITH that GOD deals to men in MEASURE.....JESUS PROMISES to FINISH and COMPLETE the work of FAITH he began IN US.

EXACTLY why salvation is IRREVOCABLE....it cannot be lost or forfeit......even after belief the APOSTLE wrote and INCLUDED HIMSELF

IF we believe NOT (after belief) HE ABIDES FAITHFUL because HE cannot deny HIMSELF

WHY...BECAUSE the GIFT of SALVATION is IRREVOCABLE

And what is this prize/crown?

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

God has promised us ETERNAL LIFE, not a prize.
You are ASSUMING the crown of life = eternal life! It didnt say that in any of the verses you quoted!

I think English is a second language to some of these people.

Persons who believe in OSAS tend to act as you just did and speak as you just did.
Even if you're being sarcastic....what kind of language is that for a Christian to speak?

1 Corinthians 11:1
1Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.
Well I believe in OSAS, and I was being sarcastic, and one who is truly saved and claims to possess the spirit of truth does not use his righteousness as a cloak to cover their skin. Out of love they don't.
The use of the word was sarcasm in protest and to direct one to what could easily be path of defiance in discovering the lie tohat mg salvation ultimately lies in my filthy, sinful, marred, and imperfections hands.
Jf that is the case, I need a new God to worship. One that don't promise things and through parables twist conditions and confusion with them.
glad j know the truth now. I can be Fred.
Thanks.

Oh, the field language, yea, I work on that all the time. I had a fowl mouth a my life. If we were in general conversation a "Christian" might be offended at my "slipping up" so often.
See, I don't know what others believe, but when a fowl word escapes from my lips, it is just that and nothing as. Fowl language corrupts good manners... nothing more.
That's all it is is she passing over box chords with the movement of the tongue and jaw to produce a sound that society seems inappropriate. .
I assume the God j worship would find more offense in saying g to another "I hate you" to another.
My heart is far from any I'll intent when familiar word's that society deems "filthy" are produced on my lips.
You can not by any means, lose the salvation so graciously given to our filthy as...butts.

Irrevocable
Incorruptible
Eternal
Everlasting
Sealed
Kept
Saved
Justified
Lose NONE
Never leave
Never forsake
HELD
Begin
Finish
Complete

But hey, If one teaches a losable salvation based upon works and performance...keeps the building full hey and the coffers full hey.....!!!
trust me, the coffers isn't full...............that's why i work a job and pastor............as the Apostle Paul said "i have spent and will be spent"

This will show you what kind of guy I am....EVEN though you have totally proven your lack of HONESTY or integrity when it comes to dealing with the word of GOD and our previous discourse and or the word IRREVOCABLE......I believe you and will take you at your word in this post.

i perceive that you are still in the gall of bitterness my friend.....repent and be converted or you will go to hell and thats no laughing matter

do you see dcon, eg......this is what your OSAS produces..............so called cursing christian's that mock the idea of going to hell....may God have mercy on your souls for "holding the truth of God in unrighteousness"

is cursing allowed on here?
Speaking of PRODUCING! Did you just condemn someone to hell and tell him to repent for using a word that the Bible itself uses? in fact, if you read the OT prophets you will notice God can get quite explicit in His language too!

Paul used the word dung, and a similar word is used many times in the OT. "pisseth against the wall" in the KJV in fact!

2Ki_9:8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

Here's what I believe to be true:
Those that worry about their salvation are saved.
Those that don't care about their salvation, don't worry about it. Like atheists, for instance. They don't go around worrying about whether or not they're saved.
Only SAVED persons worry they may not really be saved.
John 3:16

As for liking to do righteousness:
I've found (I'm a lot older than you) that as you walk with God, you learn more and more.
The change in us could be immediate, or it may take some time.
Some small changes will most probably happen immediately, but some will take longer.
For instance,,, I didn't understand about forgiveness till just about 10 years ago, and I've been Christian a really long time, and studying too. We could get into this more if you want to.
We just can't know everything all at once, but God is patient and loving with us.
2 Peter 3:9

As to the other cheek:
What your pastor was saying, is NOT what Jesus was saying. I could also get into this.
Jesus never said to stand around and take it. He said to be gentle as doves and wise as serpents.
He got mad at things just like we do...a righteous mad. Nothing wrong with that. When we see sin we SHOULD be mad...if someone attacks us, it's like the enemy attacking us....we SHOULD be upset. The devil scours the earth, seeking whom he will devour. We should stand up to him.

Loving our enemies.
What is love anyway?
Is it just a feeling? No.
It's not doing harm to them.
It's helping them if necessary.
It's praying for their soul.
If they give us too much grief,,,it's even OK to keep them out of our life...
however, we are not to hate them or to seek vengeance.
And love is not that lovey dovey feeling we have for a loved one...
Love means doing the right thing.
Try not to cuss them out in your mind.... remember Jesus looks at the heart.
This takes patience and maybe time....but one day you WILL achieve this.
Jesus will always forgive you your shortcomings.
1 John 1:8-10
1 John 2:1

As to Mathew 23....
Are you making believe to be a Christian or do you really desire to be one?
This is what Matthew was talking about re Jesus.
The Pharisees were following the law to a T,,,,but inside they were rotten and did not love God.
The very fact that you're worried about this shows your love for God.

Philippians 4:8-9
8Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
9The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
I enjoyed reading this post...xox...

Yet, you can't see you condemn yourself when you go off on others about sinning while you continue to sin yourself.

You did mishandle it

You were quoting it and making it seem like Romans 2:6-7 was how people get saved! Its clear from the context.

It doesnt contradict, and i didnt say it did! What im saying is: Paul is making a POINT from Romans 1-3. He is saying all is under sin, and nobody CAN do romans 2:6-7 which is why Romans 3:21-26 is there.

NOBODY IS JUSTIFIED BY KEEPING THE LAW

maybe you should read the whole post before you comment.

no i didn't condemn him to hell..............he started his post saying "he was going to hell"

i replied "if you don't repent you will"

okay I went back and looked up the question brother Dan asked Silas. which was does he believe in the triune God?

My answer: YES i believe it.

YOU NEXT Silas.

I believe you've been dodging because you dont believe in the doctrine of the trinity, why else would you refrain from simply saying YES to a core doctrine of Christianity! LEST you be proved a HERETIC!
