the integers are the numbers {. . . -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, . . . }
a rational number is a number that can be written as the ratio of two integers,

0.gif
where a & b are integers.

a series is a set of n numbers

1.gif
where n can be any positive integer.

consider the series

2.gif
for general n, and consider the series of sums
3.gif
where for each s ∈ {1 ... n}
4.gif

for example, let

5.gif
and let b = 2
then,

6.gif
and
7.gif

for any b, let n → ∞ , then

8.gif
so

((continued ... ))

we have that

10.gif

now suppose b = 0, for any series A
then,

11.gif
since by definition,
12.gif
for any a ≠ ∞

we assume that a, a is finite.

'divided by zero'

'
divided by nothing'

'nothing divides'

dost thou know the balancings of the clouds,
the wondrous works of Him which is perfect in knowledge?
(Job 37:16)
Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
(Isaiah 40:12)

thanks for reading my drivel

Philippians 2:7. :)

That's the short answer. The long answer is that in His flesh, He had to learn just like the rest of us. The difference is that He did not share our sinful nature. In His exalted state, He had (prior to incarnation) and continues to have (post-incarnation) all the wisdom.

Now... where in Scripture does it state or suggest that Christ's wisdom is "infinite"? Psalm 147:5 says, "Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit." However, that can be interpreted as "adequate to understanding completely all that is" which is not the same as "infinite"

In a mathematical sense, if "n" represents all that exists or could potentially exist, God's understanding need only be "n + 1" for that verse to be true. To one whose understanding is anything less than "n", we could not grasp a limit on His understanding. :)

Sure. When Jesus took human form, He limited Himself is certain ways while growing into manhood.

Unknown. Unlikely. But it is absolutely true that Christ Jesus has and will increase in Glory.

Whose perspective is this from?

If this is from mans perspective it could appear that Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and man.

If this is Gods perspective then I don't know how Jesus would increase in stature and favour with God.

Could it be, for an example? It would seem one purpose of appearing in human form was to demonstrate what is possible, in these mortal bodies, if one would allow the Holy Spirit to dominate our lives, instead of our carnal nature. All humans have the capacity to “increase in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

Here is a short “old” commentary on the issue.

The last verse gives us the end of what the Scriptures reveal concerning His early years: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” In all this He is an example to us. If we would grow in grace as we grow in years we need to feed on the Word of God and to spend much time in communion with our Heavenly Father by prayer and meditation. In Hebrews 5:11-14 the inspired writer bewails the sad fact that so many of God’s children make such slow progress in the spiritual life. After years of Christian profession they are still as babes in Christ, unable to appropriate and to digest the deeper spiritual truths of the Scriptures, but are such as need to be fed upon the milk of the Word. Paul speaks in a similar way to the Corinthian believers (1 Corinthians 3:1-2). One evidence of spiritual babyhood is the tendency to quarrel over trivial questions, and to follow after human leaders instead of being subject to the direction of the Holy Spirit. Babies are inclined to be quarrelsome and self-willed. Some Christians manifest the same childish characteristics. Those who go on with the Lord and grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ become increasingly like their Master. In this, as in all else that pertains to life and godliness, our blessed Lord as Man on earth was our example. While Jesus was the Incarnate Son, yet as a youth in the home at Nazareth “He increased in wisdom” as He grew in stature, and men marveled at the grace that was seen in His holy ways.

There’s a couple of verses that might show that humanity, in Luke 8:45 it appears as he was really asking who touch me. then there’s the time question.

Trying to wrap our heads around God's wisdom, or even Christ's earthly wisdom brings to mind this scripture:

Isaiah 55:8, 9
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.":)

Didnt John the baptist say He must increase, I must decrease.

Also when it talks about Jesus increasing in wisdom and staure it just means he grew up. When you are a child you think like a child but when you are a man (or adult) you think like an adult.

Although Jesus does say one must enter the kingdom as or like a child.

You mathematicians often pose problems just for fun. When there isnt one! Im really not into solving maths problems, I left that behind in high school lol.

Jesus was never limited in any way, only that our understanding of what He said or what is written in the scriptures is somehow failing us. For instance the term Christ; most people only take it to mean Jesus or the anointed one but this is only the superficial meaning, its deeper meaning is the authority of God on Earth and that authority is the pure heart of a man.

So God (who has infinite knowledge) comes down to demonstrate Christship/Sonship so as to bring man up to speed with the truth from zero. The heart of a man as was created by God is vast 'deep waters', it can hold the entire universe and indeed God created the universe through the heart of a man.

God created through knowledge and wisdom and we know that knowledge and wisdom finds residence in the spirit/mind only- so God (who is eternal, infinite knowledge) became the creation Himself through the mind/spirit of a man. Therefore, initially, in the beginning, all creation was God and it was 'good and perfect' but the first man lost it and this is how sin or evil was found - God did not create evil. Evil rendered every creation 'imperfect and bad'/ temporary/ finite but all these again was by design so that through the heart of a man, eternal/good/infinite may find meaning by comparison to the temporary/bad/finite.

But God has a plan to redeem everything again through the heart of man by becoming Christ and demonstrating Christship/Sonship to men and it is through the heart of man that everything will be salvaged.

Jesus said, "..Heavens and Earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away...". The word of God finds residence in the heart/mind of a man and it is from this deep waters that the new heavens and new earth shall dawn once again but this time, infinitely/permanently. So Jesus was merely demonstrating how man is to be brought back by increasing in knowledge and wisdom of the spiritual.
