Thank you brother, God used you today to help me more than you'll ever know. I sat in my vehicle for nearly two hours typing what little I did through tears

What a blessing that all your kids are believers. That is a testimony of good kids and good parents

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
3 John 1:4 KJV

We have 3 kids
Katelyn 19
Codey 20
Corey 9 going on 19 lol

I encouraged my daughter to write in a journal during there long stay at the hospital.......She said she looked over at my son and the dash was all around him and they were using the jaws of life to get him out and he had a woman by the hand and was praying for God to help the EMT's. Then he reached out to her hand and they prayed together.......man I could go on

Please pray for my daughter she fights a lot of guilt due to all this....but it has certainly brought them even closer than they were

Again.....thanks
I will pray. I can relate to those feelings of guilt, I went through something similar when I was young.

There is no easy way to deal with the guilt, my parents reassuring me was a tremendous help though. :)

Obedience to God nullifies our works, no Longer needing to prove ourselves under pride of achievement. Jesus made this clear: the one who refused to do what he was told and repented and did the will of the Father. The other said yes Lord but did not go...
I venture to say, both of us are here. The old man who cant receive, and the New Man, and we know Jesus is the new man. I hope your not fighting to save the old man.

DON'T JUST CLAIM BUT WALK THE TALK.

... This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. IF WE CLAIM to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, WE LIE and do not live by the truth. But if we WALK in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. IF WE CLAIM to be without sin, WE DECEIVE OURSELVES and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. IF WE CLAIM we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and HIS WORD HAS NO PLACE IN OUR LIVES. 1 John 1:5-10

...Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. WALK while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who WALKS in the dark does not know where he is going. John 12:35

...Whoever CLAIMS to live in him must WALK as Jesus did. 1 John 2:6

...But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and WALKS around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him. 1 John 2:11

...And this is love: that we WALK in OBEDIENCE to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you WALK in LOVE. 2 John 1:6

... Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. Love One Another This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE PASSED FROM DEATH TO LIFE, because we love our brothers. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT LOVE REMAINS IN DEATH. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, HOW CAN THE LOVE OF GOD BE IN HIM? Dear children, LET US NOT LOVE WITH WORDS or tongue BUT WITH ACTIONS AND IN TRUTH. 1 John 3:7-18[
Amen! Eternal life is a present possession for believers. John 5:24 - Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. :)

This hope we have is not some cross your fingers, uncertain kind of hope. Unlike the english word "hope," the N.T. word contains no uncertainty; it speaks of something that is certain. - Strong's #1680 elpís (from elpō, "to anticipate, welcome") – properly, expectation of what is sure (certain); hope. If we have saving faith in Christ, then we have this hope. Faith is the substance of things HOPED for.. (Hebrews 11:1). So that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the HOPE of eternal life (Titus 3:7).

Those who have not placed their faith (belief, trust, reliance) in Jesus Christ alone for salvation do not have this certain hope and can only cross their fingers with an uncertain hope of being saved after death based on the merits of their performance, which is hopeless. Christ saves us through faith based on the merits of His finished work of redemption alone and not based on the merits of our works. Not hard to understand. Just hard for many people to ACCEPT.

The gifts and call of GOD are IRREVOCABLE

Salvation is a GIFT.....Look up the word IRREVOCABLE.........IT states it clearly if one is honest
dcon, i have a question concerning Judas

if the gifts and call of God are IRREVOCABLE (as you suggest)

the follow verses says that Jesus not only called Judas, but he also ordained him an Apostle to preach His gospel

was the call of Judas revoked?

Mark 3:13-15 (KJV)
13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.
14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

JUDAS was an unbeliever and a THIEF who only followed Jesus, because HE THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE BIG MONEY, when JESUS set up the KINGDOM. He had to settle for 30 pieces of silver, when he found out that JESUS was NOT GOING TO SET UP THE KINGDOM, right there at that time,

Matthew 10:4 (ASV)
4 Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

John 12:4-6 (HCSB)
4 Then one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot (who was about to betray Him), said,
5 “Why wasn’t this fragrant oil sold for 300 denarii and given to the poor?”
6 He didn’t say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief. He was in charge of the money-bag and would steal part of what was put in it.

HE would STEAL from the Money BAG ALL THE TIME.

PROVED BY HIS ACTS that HE WAS NEVER BORN AGAIN.

And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Jesus gave this power to all 12

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Matthew 10:1‭-‬4 KJV
That does not prove that Judas did any casting out of unclean spirits.

Does the bible not say if you walk in the spirit you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh?

Does the bible not say that with every temptation he will provide a way of Escape?

OKAY, lets put you to the TEST:

1 Peter 2:13-17 (NKJV)
13 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme,
14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.
15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men--
16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.
17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

I Like your thinking as I have though of this before, but obviously Judas has no reward, not having fulfilled His calling, "Many are called but few are chosen." I compare the son of perdition: the lost son, to the first king Saul, He was changed to another man but remained divided because he loved the praise of the people, more than the praise of God. Before he died, he was told by Samuel that he would be with him the next day: Saul became corrupted by power because God appointed him king, somehow Saul knew he was not fit for the picture and hid. once he was appointed against his will he could not let it go: he became corrupted by power, and killed those who did not cooperate with him, a whole city of priests... yet he docent end up in hell but in paradise with Samuel in paradise, obviously without a crown of Life like Samuel and likely still awaiting the final Judgment. interestingly, Saul in the new covenant who became Paul was from the same tribe of Benjamin, who had been judged by the Lord to be destroyed, but Israel prayed that some would be spared. Obviously it doesn't look good for Judas and no one want to be in His sandals. We need to look at the picture without being Judges of evil thought: self righteous Judges condemning ourselves and allowing Buddhists to enter in ahead of us in the process, after all if we had the mind of Christ they would be evangelized.

This is quite easy, pay the speeding ticket when you get caught. For years I would get 2 per year like clock work and I think 2 represented dualistic thinking, the fine for a divided spirit, the good and the bad has to pay as its all bad in God's eyes. Our self righteous and folly.

I like your attitude, but I still think that paying the fine is submitting to authority. I also escaped, I don't drive anymore.
Felt terribly isolated at first, like an invalid without a wheelchair (after all a car is a family wheelchair and I did not need one living alone), I learned to slow down and enjoy walking since.

I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

So if you poses the spirit of wisdom and truth, and you are walking in the love for Christ, you will automatically be one that Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Because that is the outcome when the spirit of wisdom and truth have revealed to you that Christ is your lord for a reason, and that reason is through Gods merciful will he died a horrible death to conquer what you could never conquer to give you eternal life with the one and only true God. Christ's father. Existences awesome creator. When you have the wisdom that paves the path with truth to allow a smooth flow of that love, you're existence is a good work that will shine. How can it be any other way.
You don't conjure and support your good works, for the will be plainly manifest in your daily existence.
Stop trying to manifest physical deeds that present a mock image of true, light shining, good works.

Hey, by the way, I'm starting a new thread concerning wisdom and it's underrated role in things pertaining to the subject matter of salvation/eternal life.
Im going to title it "Wisdom- The underrated attribute"
My pride says it would be nice to see a few familiar name's with the posts. (wink, wink, ...poke with elbow) 😀
God bless and keep each and every one of you.
Through the mighty grace of God bestowed upon me, I can say in truth , I love each and every one of you.

It is Christ, the root that produces fruit in the branches

If you can answer the question, what is the difference in receiving something by grace and receiving something as a gift, then we can talk about the verses I gave, and then if you can show me that good works are not part of the grace of God bestowed on us, I will admit my error.

Ephesians 1:6- Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

Romans 12:6- Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

1 Corinthians 15:12-But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

1 Corinthians 12:7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
???

The Ephesians verse talks about God giving GRACE as a gift.

The Romans verse is talking about how the spiritual gifts are given due to God's grace.

The 1 Co15 verse is about how he uses the gift of grace to do good works..(example God gives you a shovel...you use it to dig a garden plot and toss out the stones and thorns of your heart)

Last verse is about how we all have the Holy Spirit but different manifestation of spiritual gifts and talents.

I came to understand the difference between understanding and wisdom as the difference between having a map and actually making the Journey; furthermore the map can't lead us to go on to perfection: that would be like saying you can go on to perfection leaning on your understanding. "Lean not on your understanding but trust in the Lord." "Let us go on to perfection, and this we will do if God permit." First we come and learn of Jesus humility, to be tamed by Him as a friend of God. Only by the leading of the Holy Spirit do we enter the wisdom of God; having agreed to the Will of God, to "Count it all Joy, Pray without ceasing, in everything give Thanks for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." Notice in "This we will do if God permits," implies our will overtaken by the Holy Spirit, in the Will of God. "When you were young you would clothe yourself and do what you wanted, but when you will be old, you will stretch out your hands and Another will clothe you and carry you, where you don't want to Go, and this He spoke of what death Peter should die."
Notice: "Stretch out your hands," to yield ourselves to serve the Lord: having ceased from ourselves.
I had also pondered starting a post by the new title of my study, the word I woke up with at a retreat: Getting past myself to Journey in fellowship with God. I haven't yet partly because I understood that only the Holy Spirit can carry us there, "I can do nothing of Myself unless it is given to Me of My Father."

Aim for perfection - Grace allows us to learn, fail, pick ourselves up and walk on.

Our aim is to be like Jesus, to walk like Jesus, to have the heart and thoughts like Jesus.
Jesus described this as impossible, except He was going to create a way.

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit
2 Cor 3:18

we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
2 Cor 10:5

With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God
Mark 10:27

An athlete trains his body, and mind to compete and win.

Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
1 Cor 9:24-25

I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
1 Cor 9:27

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1 Tim 4:8

Paul, one of our greatest examples, walked this road and called us to follow his example.

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
1 Cor 11:1

Every battle with our hearts, is a battle we can lead to victory. It is the price we pay to become like Jesus.
And in His grace, He calls us to follow one step at a time.

Saying eternal life can be lost is not exactly a righteous thing, it takes credit and honor away from god and places it on self.
So sorry, but i can not agree here
Are non-OSAS people non-OSAS?

Who is saved, who has an idea but along for the ride, who is planted by the enemy?

Only Jesus knows. And Jesus commands us to love all and treat each equally.
So a sheep who is His, knows Jesus, listens and will not follow others.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
John 10:27

Do you hear Jesus? We follow Him.

The argument is about sin. Do we compromise or do we fight, struggle and pay a price?
Grace allows us to struggle, learn, fail and fight through to success.

The enemy will always discourage, attack and destroy the enthusiasm of the Lords people
to follow their Lord. But this is the Kingdom, following the Lord, so we rise to victory, if not
today, then tomorrow and the day after until we meet face to face.

to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

That does not prove that Judas did any casting out of unclean spirits.
Did Jesus give Judas the power to cast out devils?

Was Judas not called chosen and ordained by Jesus to be an apostle?

Jesus knows the end from the beginning so yes he knew that Judas would betray him.

But Judas was not forced to betray Jesus. No more then Eve was forced to eat the forbidden fruit....... She was tempted and she fell to that temptation. This the acts 1 says "Judas by transgression fell"

Bible says Satan entered the heart of Judas when Jesus gave him the sop

I would argue that Peters sins was far worse than Judas!!

Peter stood by the fire looking at the savior and cursed saying "i don't know who HE is". Imagine how Jesus must have felt......

Judas betrayed Jesus
Peter denied Jesus

Betrayal......slams the door in my face
Denial........locks the door

Betrayal......stabs a knife in my back
Denial.....twists the knife

Only difference between Peter and Judas was that Peter wept bitterly no doubt repenting........Judas couldn't bare the thought of facing Jesus, although he could have gotten forgiveness as Peter did..

Watch Judas preach one of his best sermons to you and I.......as he takes the money back, throws it down....gives it back......he is preaching to me that sin doesn't pay what it promises
