So I recently read an article about prayer that its been confirmed of benefits whether its mental health forgiveness ect. The study was done by a Christian but it stated the people had the same frontal lobe experience no matter who they prayed too or what religion. And an apologetic I watch on Youtube explained the benefits existed whether God existed or not he of course believes God does so if yhats the case its a game changer. I know this is meant to encourage but I feel the opposite of it I thought this feeling I feel when I commune with God was unique and the stress relief and everything was unique but it sounds like any religion will do it. So what do I do whats the point if its some mind trick? Basically I need help in pinpointing whats me and whats God

Imho... I believe all the attributes of God are His regardless if we pray or not. He is a healer, a comforter, a cleanser, a miracle working Diety, with or without our participation. I do agree all kinds of things can enduce temporary stress relief. Meditation using the third eye stuff vs meditating on the word, for example shows the difference. One has God and His living word present connecting with the true Holy Spirit, the other just uses a "mind trick", a tool that taps into something God created. I say anything truly good, no matter what, is a gift from Heavenly places.

James 1:17

Everything good comes from God. Every perfect gift is from him. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky. But God never changes like the shadows from those lights. He is always the same.

Now the devil is a pesky creature that mimics good, so I believe those who are finding direction, strength, or any so called truths outside of the One and only true God are deceived.

We were given the gift of life so that we can worship, commune and connect, with God, so prayer is a blessing He gives that allows communication, peace of mind, hope, strength, power, so that He can shine His Glory. His works produce more faith, which produce more of His Glory, from glory to glory.

Do other avenues get us to that place? I say not authentically, because that place is God; and we know the only way to the Father is through Christ. In Jesus name, is the key ingredient, the way, the truth, and the life, that propels us to God.

I think He gives us tools, besides prayer, that also gives us peace of mind. I don't always practice it, even though I have seen its truth...

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Philippians 4:8‭-‬9 NASB

Clearly, He created us to think true, healing, empowering and renewing thoughts.

"The Divine Spirit of Christ, 'Holy Spirit' has 'residence' within each individual.
This God 'consciousness' shall be dormant or active. Vacant of spiritual attitude and
behavior, prayer attempt shall be more on a worldly selfish agenda. A sincere spiritual
attitude allows an intimacy with the Holy Spirit in guidance of our life, so long as God's
'principles' of life are earnestly applied in our attitude and behavior. The dilemma arises
when unable to have spiritual and worldly harmony...for here is a daily challenge...believe it.
I have learned over the past two decades, my spiritual daily maintenance is not only
essential, but mandatory in any hope of a meaningful relationship unto God. Let not the
materialistic world be your master. The deepness of God's word are illuminated through
a spiritual 'awareness'......the wisdom of the world has been made foolish."

Oh man, boy do I understand that. My emotions snag the best of me, sometimes. It is a wee more challenging to line up our emotions with the will and word of God, huh?

Thanks be to Him, there us hope and that with Him all things are possible. But I totally understand, big time. We are in this together, Brother. He will help us get us where we need to be. I really like this thread because it is easy to speak faith, another to apply it. This makes you think and examine where we are putting our focus.
