As the step-mother to a daughter who committed suicide, NO it is NOT murder. She was bipolar, in a horrible relationship, and other factors which led to her clinical depression. There is only 1 unforgiveable sin. This subject is very dear to my heart.
Sorry for your loss. I wanted to say that I lost my brother as well to suicide and I myself have contimplated suicide many times. Its a battle I struggle with. And I hope my brother is in heaven but im not sure. I focus on my own salvation because we cant save anyone else only God can save us. We must endure till the end and we have a promise for our faith to be joint heirs with Christ. We have an obligation on this earth tell people about Gods merciful Love. Many ppl wont be saved but we should try to do all we can and remain faithful to Him even when we dont understand why these things happen. God bless your family.

I strongly disagree with you. If you kill yourself you are defeated and you said it yourself we are conquerors we have victory in Christ Jesus. One whom kills himself is defeated. Another factor is that our body is the temple of the Most High our bodies do not belong to us 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 so how can we destroy Gods temple when we are to serve Christ. Only satan is here to kill steal and destroy. Suicide is the work of the devil and if we have not learned that even Judas who walked with God and betrayed Jesus is now resting in his own seperate place as referenced in Acts 1:25 so lets not give in to the false belief that if you believe you are a Christian you will be saved. Read 1 Peter 4:17-18
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Scarcely be saved! Strongs concordance says scarcely means with difficulty. I interpret this passage as meaning FEW! For narrow is the straight gate and few shall find it and few will enter and broad is the path to hell. Im paraphrasing
And I adamantly disagree with your opinion that Christ's sin payment just isn't good enough.

Romans 5:
22 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

It's Christ's righteousness that won the victory! Not yours or mine. To Jesus be all the thanks, praise & glory. Amen

Yes thats true. He paid the price for sin. So we are saved by grace not by anything weve done to deserve it. But that is why we must repent! Repent means to turn away from sin. Adulterers sexually immoral homosexuals etc will not enter the kingdom of heaven. So what do you say to them? Well if they repent and sin no more as Jesus told the woman caught in adultery Jesus did not condemn her. It is a gift of grace if we recieve. We recieve the gift in our repentance and an open heart to Gods words and to keep them bind them to your heart. How can you continue to walk in sin and claim grace? That is false doctrine. We must flee from all forms of evil and turn to God and He is merciful to forgive us. We cannot die in our iniquity and expect to find grace.. i dont see that in the bible. Im open ears if you have a verse to validate your claim.

Im not debating with you. Im debating for anyone who is considering suicide. Your words can hurt someone. This isnt some debate this is real life. So to the sister who started this thread do not hurt yourself in anyway. Trust in the Lord He will help you. His Holy Spirit is our comforter. So if you feel pain cast ur cares on the Lord. Dont give in to the enemy because the enemy is out to devour whom he may. You need to p ut on the full armor which is Gods word and you will get though whatever you may be going thru. Sin is sin and there is punishment for sin we must fear the Lord and His wrath. We must remain in His mercy taking refuge in Jesus Christ. God bless you to anyone else who needs Jesus to step in and take over in their life.

I have heard that the blood of Christ covers all sins. Is this true?

Yes it does. Thats why it confuses people when it comes to suicide. I asked this same question when I thought of ending my life. I figure I would go to heaven. But that does not seem like that would make any sense? If I destroy my temple which is not mine anymore but Gods then how can I be right with God? Taking a life accounts as murder because your life does not belong to you anymore when you make Jesus Lord of your life. If we kill ourselves we go against Gods will. And only the saints who do Gods will and obey Gods commands are true believers and have the Holy Spirit. When we sin we grieve the Holy Spirit so how much more if we destroy our body which is where our Spirit lives? I just dont see how we can forget all that Christ paid for our salvation just to commitr murder on ourself. It doesnt seem righteous thing to do and is contrary how the life of a Christian should resemble. We are to live our lives how Jesus taught us to live and He never taught us to sin much less to kill ourselves. That all comes from satan. And we are no longer are sons of disobedience as we all once were, we are to reflect Christ which lives in us as we are now sons of God. Thats what I believe. Thats my commitment to the Lord since He is now Lord of my life and ive surrendered to His will. Not my will but Gods will. And that is not suicide.

If you commit suicide do you go to hell? What if you have failed at suicide then later die of natural causes?
This is the saddest question I have read in a long time.
Jesus is about hope, love and victory.

Our names are written in the lambs book of life, and cannot be taken away.
Depression and the pain within which is indescribable can be healed, resolved
by the King of Kings.

The tragedy is the issue is the faith and love defines us not how one ends ones life.

It is hard to describe the suffering many people have in their lives and how this
drives some to take their lives. Into His hands we commit all things, but the
resolution is in finding His infinite love and begin to plug into the eternal uplifting
that comes from praising Him.

To know His love, the truth of heaven and His loving embrace changes everything
in us. So do not let anyone take this away from you, just reach out to Him and know
the Lord reaching back to you, Amen.

The question is really wrong.
If you fail at suicide you actually win!

Just tell satan to get lost. Hes messing with your mind. I would not recommend suicide it isnt showing much faith, and I have known a few sucides and they didnt tell anyone, after their deaths their families found them and had to clean up the mess.
Its cowardly, if you suffering..speak out and TELL SOMEONE.

If you feeling down or hopeless, maybe you dont have a job, or you think you cant carry on, or nobody will miss you, or you just aint good enough.what other people think of you dont matter to God, YOU matter to Him.

Hes not going to let satan snatch you out of His hand.
Another thing, on the cross was not the only time Jesus was tempted with suicide. When he was in the wilderness, nasty satan came to him and told him to throw himself off the top of the temple! The angels will catch you, he said. What did Jesus say? He said dont tempt the Lord your God.

So Gods got you in his and somehow you, by comitting suicide its like saying to God I just dont want to be in your hand anymore.

What is temptation but satan trying to kill you by making you believe if you kill yourself it doesnt count.

We are not to murder (kill). And that would include ourselves. Our lives and the lives of others do not belong to us they belong to GOD.

Do we go to Hell if we commit suicide? GOD determines who goes to Hell. Let's let HIM be the Judge.
However we are warned The wages of sin is death and Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

It is also written for our edification. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

What if youve sought help and there is none?
Is this you. Are you thinking about it or have you tried to my friend. If so what is wrong? If you do not wish to share here you can PM me or someone else here. If not someone here please seek someone. Most Pastors are educated in this venue also. Being that they are suppose to be Spirit Led I would suggest talking to a Pastor or but before a Psychotherapist.

Reach out to GOD, friends and family. Do you belong to a church?

I just want to say I understand what you went through with your loss. I am sorry too for you. As for where your brother is, God goes by what's in our hearts. Suicide will not keep someone out of heaven. God's Word does not say that it does. People need to understand causes for someone contemplating suicide. Less judgment and more compassion and understanding

You go through a suicide among your loved ones and then speak out. What I post is not "my opinion." It's my experience.
With all due respect I believe it is an opinion weather or not our loved ones are in heaven. Because only God the Father is the judge of each and every single one of us. And we will know all things when we go before the Lord. No one knows the heart except the Lord and only God can judge. We lack even the slightest understanding when it comes to judgement because Gods ways are much higher than our understanding. We can only give an opinon weather or not the person made it to heaven and we can do this by lining everythjng up with scripture and killing is a sin. Its a commandment of God thou shalt not kill. Paul was a ruthless killer but when He was touched by God He repented and sinned no more. He could have kept killing and now killed the enemies of the gospel but instead thats not what God asks of us. Paul killed the flesh daily and gave not into temptation but rather lived a sanctified life and was greatly used by God. Pauls account shows us true repentance. Walk in love keep the faith and abstain from sin. Suicide shouldnt be an option and is corruption. No matter who does it God is not a repector of persons. He will judge us all.

You speak about not judging, then you should read again what you posted. God will judge you with the judgment you mete out. No where in God's Word does it say "thou shall not commit suicide." Educate yourself

This was a very sensitive topic to have been brought up. Sorry it was spoken of so casually by people. As you see no one really has an answer that doesent conflict with another. Sorry for your loss. I mean it. May God bless you....
