Hearing and sharing God's word is what happens here. The most interesting in-depth conversations take place in the forums where, depending on the topic, post, and time of day, you can often receive a response within minutes. I rarely have went to the chat rooms where the conversation is either trivial, disjointed or about Jesus 24/7, and have not been back since the site changed to the new format last May. Actually, there have been several Café threads started in the past. The main topic seems to be donuts and coffee and the fellowship is casual. Posts about various kinds of coffee usually get a response for some reason or another. Very amusing. Donuts are popular too but perhaps not so much the jelly filled kind.

Welcome. I'm still a few days new here myself, and my system doesn't support the chat apps, but like others have suggestion, click around the forums, you'll find something/someone and responses are usually quick. I've had some forums really silly, but others very deep and Biblical, actually two were EXACTLY what the Lords been dealing with me on and I stumbled upon the forums like Oh wow!......... anyway dig around, you'll find areas where God's word SHINES and lots of pals waiting to hear what you have to share.

I know the types of forums you are talking about...... I personally stay away from certain threads because of that. Jesus NEVER forced His word arrogantly. like you said "guidance from the Spirit" some threads are just better not to even comment on, why bother throwing your pearls before the swine? (reference Matthew 7:6) I have found the Miscellaneous forum and Blog forum (because that's kinda like a personal online diary..... that anyone can access) to be helpful. As well as the life-bits link at the top of the page, I find more Scripture based gems there than in the forums.....................
