To speak kind and lovingly, and for each word not to be doubted, because the hearer knows their is no ulterior motive; they land on solid ground, knowing no flattery is within any of the elements of speech, only sincere encouragement. This is how we all want to be heard, right? We want our thoughts and words to matter, to have meaning. We yearn to be understood, loved and cherished.

Even though most of us mean every word we say, that they have no hidden agenda, the only One we can really rely on being 100% true is the Most High. We can count on His lips never to have flattery upon Him, that His words are the most real, most solid...

so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:11 ESV

I have come to realize that though to be loved and cherished, trusted completely by man is soothing and comforting, that we have hope of that with our sincere Family in Christ, our true unyielding hope is in Him alone. Yes, it is better to give than to receive, and this applies to love. We can and should love others with all our thoughts, actions and words. Our love is most useful, has its greatest hope and meaning, when it is centered on Him.

Read this found in Psalms 16:5-11...

The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Isn't that so beautiful? It brings great sustenance and comfort, not only because they are pretty words but because of the solid truth behind them.
