Lonely faith

i am looking for a family in the church of God who is willing to simply ChAT

I’ve lived half my life without parents or sibling or relatives ..my mom was schitzo and ostracised by everyone . She trained me to detach from ppl around me and that trusting ppl is wrong . I get punished whenever I want to leave the house or hang out with friends . . huge meltdown and shouting and caning filled my childhood .. My parents fought all the time . They have since passed on. Now I have a huge difficulty drawing close to anyone or make close friends and I’m already in my 40s

Everyday after work I go home and face the walls . I just want to chat on mundane routine things.. food, tv, travel, .. boring stuff.. I want a family of sisters brothers..

I am sorry of what you have gone through .Good news is God loves you so much and has a plan for your life .Feel free to post here on cc and you will see that you will soon make great friends who will encourage you and help you with the word of God .Draw near to him and he will draw near to you .

Getting involved is the key to getting out of CC what it is you are seeking..

This place is text based and that makes it easier for those who have been raised in less then optimal conditions and less then level headed parents .. I understand that for some people face to face interaction is near traumatic because they have never learned the art of face to face socializing when they where at that critical age when Children are supposed to learn such things..

I am more of an introvert then an extrovert so i kind of understand on a basic level the difficulties we can face that leads us to select a text based medium to get some interaction with other people.. Of course my experience in life is not the same as yours. I have no doubt your experience has been far more traumatic..

But i hope you are blessed with some benefit from your time here and that it assists you in becoming more confident and capable in the areas you wish to have improvement in..

Do you have any hobbies or interests? Volunteering is an excellent way to meet new people. You can enjoy the activity and make friends at the same time.

You need a lot of counselling. You have been programmed to mistrust people, you need to find a safe person, counselling of therapist, and work through this.

It is a terrible quandary to realize you are lonely for people, but not know how to believe and trust them. I pray you will get help. You have to seek God and learn to trust him first. I said these verses for 1/2 hour every morning. And it really helped me to totally trust God.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6.

Your Mom was a piece of work, obviously not a people person, but don't let her influence dictate how you perceive others. Trust people until they give you a reason not to. It is tough to tolerate some people, and family ain't always what its cracked up to be, but just keep interacting and you'll inevitably meet some people that are semi-civilized. Hopefully, it will be a friendly, nice looking, soul mate.

One thing I would like to add is, I KNOW that matter how bad of a hand life deals you in the beginning, it has no bearing whatsoever on what is possible ahead. You would be amazed how 40 years of madness can be lifted almost instantly.

Just like someone in a Texas Hold Em tournament. The one dealt the 7,2 off suit started bad but in no way can they not still win the game.

DO NOT wrap your mind around specific methods of how to fix your problems.... Tell God what bothers you inside and, stand your ground being unsure of HOW things will get better but, sure that your creator hears you and wants to be involved in your daily life.
